On april 30, Deskovic success- fully completed a month-long au- dition process before being named to the squad. She said it was a highly competitive environment, but an overall positive one. “i hope everybody knows how positive everybody is that’s in- volved. My experience so far has been so exciting and really encour- aging and everybody has been all- around really positive and i just hope that’s how everybody sees it because that’s how i experienced it,” Deskovic said. Deskovic joins her close friend and Philadelphia 76ers dance team member Gia Grimm, also of Ham- monton, as the latest local resident to be employed by a professional sports organization in Philadel- phia. although she was confident in her audition prospects due to her extensive background as a per- former, Deskovic said she has yet to totally accept the reality of her being named an eagles cheer- leader. “i don’t think it has really hit me yet, to be honest with you. i don’t think it might even hit me until i get out on the field for the first time. that might be when it really clicks for me and that’s just a re- ally exciting thing to look forward to,” Deskovic said. as Deskovic overcomes the shock of being named to the ea- gles’ cheerleading squad and pre- pares for the 2019 NfL season, she said she is greatly looking forward to basking in the team spirit and the passion of the fans that will be rooting for the Birds just as hard as she and the rest of the squad will be. “it’s really exciting because i wouldn’t even have said that this was a dream of mine because it’s just never something i thought i’d be able to achieve. So, now having it, it feels like a dream. it really just means that much to me be- cause i get be out there again, per- forming and whatever it is, and just getting out there and seeing all the fans that i saw at the parade, just from a whole different light now. So, it’s going to be a really exciting experience. i’m really ex- cited for it,” Deskovic said. Courtesy Photo Christine Deskovic, of Hammonton, has been named an Eagles Cheer- leader. SOLD! 800 S.
