Anthony “Butch” DeCicco
anthony “Butch” DeCicco, 77, of Hammonton died peacefully sur-
rounded by his loving family beside him.
Born and raised in Hammonton, he graduated from St. Joseph High
School Class of 1959. Butch retired from atlantic City electric Co. He
was a proud member of the Hammonton Sons of italy, the italian Her-
itage Club, a former coach for the Hammonton Little League for many
years and a friend of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society.
He is predeceased by his parents, anthony (Nonie) and Mildred De-
Cicco. Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Diane DeCicco (nee
Cardia); his three children, Christine Macrie and her husband Mike, an-
thony DeCicco and thomas DeCicco; his grandchildren, Macie and Her-
bert Storey and Michael Macrie (Michelle Bertino) and great-granddaughter, angelina
Storey.
a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, June 1, 2019 in St. Mary of Mt.
Carmel Parish, Church of St. anthony of Padua rC Church, Hammonton, where a viewing
was also held. Burial followed in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hammonton. in lieu of flowers
memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 226 french St., Ham-
monton, NJ.

John L. “Jack” Farren
John L. “Jack” farren, 84, of Hammonton, died on May 28, 2019.
Jack was born in Hammonton on March 16, 1935. He attended St.
Joseph Parochial School in Hammonton, where he became an avid ath-
lete, playing baseball, football and basketball for the Wildcats. inducted
into the St. Joseph High School athletic Hall of fame in 2002, Jack was
known for his ambidextrous pitching and hitting abilities, along with car-
rying the Wildcats baseball team to some of their most successful sea-
sons. His senior yearbook stated, “Jack detests everything about school
except sports. Jack is really a born pitcher.” He was also known for his
cartooning and sketching during class. after graduation in 1952, he en-
tered the U.S. air force. He served from 1952 to 1956 and was proud
to work at the Pentagon, where he was assigned to the Office of the Secretary of the air
force. He was commended upon discharge for his, “devotion and untiring efforts,” by the
Chief Officer, in a letter that he kept hung so all could see, often talking about the time he
served with pride. Once discharged from the service, Jack came home to marry his high
school sweetheart, rita on Valentine’s Day of 1954. He and rita had met in middle school
and dated throughout high school despite her being a Hammonton Blue Devil and him a
St. Joe Wildcat. Jack went to work for as a crane operator for the atlantic City expressway
during its building phase and then an equipment operator for another company prior to
joining his father, al at Morgan’s Pump and tank Service Company. Jack eventually be-
came the owner and operator of Morgan’s until its closing, finishing his working years at
tankology inc. in Cherry Hill. When not working, he kept playing baseball, playing and
coaching for the folsom rams. to this day he is remembered for his baseball talent. from
a young age, he loved to fish and hunt. He was a member of the Gloucester City rod and
Gun Club until its dissipation and was an active member of the antler Shack Hunt Club,
where he was revered for his hunting skills and respected by all as a senior member of the
club. Jack was also a member of the Hammonton Chapter of the Sons of italy.
Jack is missed and survived by his family, including his children, Jacky farren, Bethanne
Macrie and her husband Paul, Loralee farren-Bermudez and her husband ryan and JD
LoSasso. those who called him Pop-Pop Jack: Paul Macrie, Desiree Blazer and her hus-
band Jason, Matt Macrie and his wife Caitlyn, rylee Bermudez, Noah Bermudez and Gun-
ner LoSasso, along with great-granddaughter alexis. also surviving are his beloved sister,
Barbara and husband Joseph Coia and sisters-in-law, Lilia LoSasso and Helen LoSasso.
a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, June 3, 2019 in St. Mary of Mt.
Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph’s, Hammonton. Burial followed in Greenmount
Cemetery, Hammonton. Donations can be made in Jack’s memory to Hunt of a Lifetime,
6297 Buffalo road, Harborcreek, Pa 16421.

Helen Ripa
Helen ripa (nee Jacobs), 99, of Hammonton died on May 26, 2019.
Born in Hammonton she was a lifelong resident. ripa formerly
worked at Kessler Clothing Shop and aggressive Pants Co. as a machine
operator. She also formerly worked at Kessler Memorial Hospital. She
was a member of the international Ladies Garment Workers Union and
Union 1199.
ripa is predeceased by her husband, Saddie ripa; her son, russell
ripa and her siblings, Jennie, Mary, tony, John, Catherine, Virginia and
Harry. She is survived by her granddaughter, Dionne McCready and her
husband Mark; her great-granddaughters, Madison and Makenzie; her
niece and caregiver, Sherry amendolia and her sons, John and Joseph
and many other nieces and nephews.

monton. a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, May 29 in St. Mary of Mt.
Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph’s, Hammonton. Burial followed in Holy Sepulchre
Cemetery.

Phillip A. Curreri Jr.
Phillip a. Curreri, Jr., 65, of Berlin died peacefully on Saturday June 1, 2019 at Virtua Hospital in Marlton.
He was born in Hammonton, where he attended St. Joe’s elementary school and graduated from edgewood regional
High School. He worked on the production line at Whitehall Labs for more than 25 years until they closed the Ham-
monton Plant. for the next 17 years he worked for the evesham Board of education in the Maintenance Department
until retiring in 2013. He enjoyed coaching his children’s sports teams, listening to music, watching movies and reading
and collecting comic books. His love for animals led him to be part of the atlantic County 4H Club.
Curreri is predeceased by his parents, regina and Philip Curreri, Sr. and sister, anna Marie addiego. He is survived
by his wife, Dawn M. Curreri of Berlin; his children, Danielle Culbertson (John) of Laurel Springs, Nicole elston (Jon)
of Hammonton, Phillip a. Curreri, iii of Berlin and Stephanie L. Curreri (Jacob Castor) of Voorhees and his one sister,
rosalie Bilazzo of Mays Landing. He is the loving grandfather of Madison, regina, Jack, J.J. and emma.

Louis “Big Lou” Coia
Louis “Big Lou” Coia, 74, of Hammonton died at home on Saturday,
May 25, 2019 with his loving family by his side.
Born and raised in Hammonton, he was a lifelong resident. Coia grad-
uated from Hammonton High School in 1962, and furthered his educa-
tion by receiving a bachelor’s degree from temple University. He served
in the army National Guard and went on to work 38 years for Spencer
Gifts as head of facilities store maintenance department retiring in 2011.
after retiring, he kept busy working for his son’s business all Vinyl
fencing. He was very active in St. anthony of Padua Church, working
the Clam Bar for the church BBQ and was instrumental with the con-
struction of the altar. He volunteered his time with the Hammonton Little
League, was a former member of the zoning Board and was sworn in as a Constable for
the town of Hammonton. “Big Lou” loved to make homemade wine and tell stories about
the good ‘ol days with his buddies, but most of all he loved spending time with his family,
especially his grandchildren on pasta nights or strolling the boards in Ocean City.
He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Catherine Coia (nee Penza) and brother,
edwin. Surviving are his loving wife of more than 50 years, Shirley (nee testa); his three
children, Luke Coia and his wife angel (romano), Shannon aumenta and her husband
Scott, and renee’ Clark and her husband Greg. He was the dear brother of Joseph Coia
and his wife Barbara of Hammonton, and teresa Butenhoff and her husband Matthew of
Ventnor. His most precious possessions were his grandchildren: Sernio aumenta, Lucas
“LJ” Coia, Gregory Clark, Catherine “Katie” Coia, Salvatore “Salvie” aumenta and Gia
Coia.

Arlene R. Vuotto
arlene r. Vuotto (nee infererra), 81, of Hammonton and recently re-
siding in Cross Hill, S.C., died on tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Morristown
Memorial Hospital.
Born in Hammonton, she lived most of her life there. Before retiring
she worked at Deer Park Baking Company in Hammonton and MedPlast
in West Berlin. She was an avid Philadelphia eagles fan.
Vuotto is predeceased by her husband, Charles f. Vuotto. She is sur-
vived by three sons, Charles f. Vuotto, Jr. (rosemary) of east Hanover
and grandson, Nicholas Vuotto, anthony Vuotto (Nancy Keppel) of
Sicklerville and her children, Jackie and Nicole, francis Vuotto (Paula)
and her children, Caitlin Mauk and Brandon Mauk. She is also survived
by many nieces and nephews.

at home on friday,
May 24, 2019 with
his family by his
side.
Born in Ham-
monton,
Sor-
rentino was a
lifelong resident.
He was a U.S.
army Veteran of
the Korean War. Sorrentino served as a
police officer in the town of Hammon-
ton, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He
also worked for the State of New Jersey
with the Office of the Public Defender
where he retired as Chief investigator.
Sorrentino was a faithful member of St.
Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish in Hammon-
ton, where he attended Mass daily. He
was one of the first eucharistic Ministers
at St. Martin DePorres r.C. Church in
Hammonton. He was a fourth Degree
Member of the Knights of Columbus -
Pallotti Council No. 3471 in Hammon-
ton. He was an avid bowler and bowled
in several different leagues.
He is predeceased by his parents, Bi-
agio “William” and Domenica Sor-
rentino; his brothers, augie, tony, and
Joe and his sisters, rose, Lena and Jen-
nie. He is survived by his loving wife of
54 years, Claire M. Sorrentino (nee Mar-
shall); one daughter, Vicki Walters
(Michael) of Mullica Hill; two sons, Paul
P. Sorrentino (amy) and Bryan Sor-
rentino (Paul Carpenetti) of Columbia,
Md. and his six grandchildren, rebecca,
emily, Luke and Logan Walters, and
Paul and Sydney Sorrentino.

Parish Church of St. anthony of Padua,
Hammonton, where a Mass of Christian
Burial was also celebrated. Burial fol-
