HAMMONTON — At the May 23 meeting of town council , Mayor Stephen Di-
Donato announced that the

SPRINGFIELD , Mass .— Dr . John Pezzuto Ph . D ., D . Sc . ( h . c .) grew up in Folsom and graduated from Hammonton High School in 1968 . Since then , he has devoted his life to scientific research in higher education . Pezzuto is an author of more than 600 publications , including the first report describing the cancer preventive activity of resveratrol , according to his biographical information .
The Gazette interviewed Pezzuto about his local roots and his long and impactful career .
Born in Hammonton at the Esposito Maternity Home , Pezzuto grew up in the Penny Pot section of Folsom .
“ I worked at the gas station behind the motel [ Pine Crest Inn ] and went to Folsom school when
