Katherine Jones Greene

Katherine Jones Greene , the sixth of seven children , was born on June 22 , 1935 , in the Bronx , New York to Hilma Eugene Jones and Dorcas Robinson Jones . At an early age she gave her heart to the Lord and became an active member of Community Full Gospel Church in the Bronx .
After graduating from Morris High School , Katherine attended Hunter College of New York where she earned a degree in Education . She began a career in social work , and eventually moved on to education and teaching elementary school students in the New York City public school system for many years .
On June 28 , 1958 , Katherine married her longtime sweetheart of five years , Hyman Greene . This union produced five children - Kenric Gordon , Robin Lynette Hudson , Kyle Warren , Raquel Ginnette , and Kristian Darren . Katherine eventually left teaching and was primarily in the home raising her children as the family grew .
After spending over 30 summers in New Jersey , in 1990 she and her husband Hyman became full time residents of Elm in Winslow Township , New Jersey . While living in Elm she was a faithful member of the Harvest Church ( formerly Hammonton Assemblies of God ) for over thirty years .
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents , Hilma and Dorcas ; sisters , Francena , Hilda , Jane , Cynthia , and Russelle . She leaves to mourn in her passing her brother , Hubie Jones ; five children ; grandsons , Kellen , Avery , and David ; granddaughters , Alaysia , Carissa , Kristin , and Kerri ; daughters-in-law , Jodi and Jonalyn ; and a host of family and friends .
Family and friends were invited to attend Katherine ’ s visitation Tuesday May 21 , 2024 , at 6 p . m . at Harvest Church 272 US-206 , Hammonton , NJ 08037 . Katherine ’ s celebration of life will took place Wednesday May 22 , 2024 , at 11 a . m . also at Harvest Church . Arrests made by HPD

HAMMONTON — Police were dispatched to West Orchard Street and North Egg Harbor Road on May 15 at 8:52 p . m . in reference to a hit and run motor vehicle crash .
Officer Richard Carpo made contact with the caller who had stated a bluish grey sedan turned left into the driver side rear of his vehicle then fled the scene south on West Orchard Street , Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said .
Several pieces of plastic bumper were found in the roadway , and police located the accused vehicle in a driveway of the 400 block of West Orchard Street .
The operator of the vehicle , Santos Hernandez , 37 , of Hammonton came out of the residence and admitted to drinking alcohol before driving . He admitted to being in the crash and leaving the scene , Friel said .
He was placed under arrest , transported to police headquarters for processing and charged with the following motor vehicle violations : driving under the influence , reckless driving , careless driving , leaving the scene of an accident , failure to report an accident , disregard of stop or yield sign and unlicensed driver .
He was released as per John ’ s law pending court appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court .
Carpo was the investigating and arresting officer .
On May 16 at 2:24 p . m . there was a call of a suspicious person in the 200 block of Jamestown Boulevard .
A caller advised that a suspicious male was attempting to enter vehicles .
Officer Daniel Ramirez responded and found a male subject matching the description .
The subject was identified as David Tomasello , 57 , of Williamstown , N . J . He was found to have NCIC warrants out of multiple jurisdictions , Friel said .
He was placed under arrest ,
transported to police headquarters for processing and lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on the NCIC warrants .
Ramirez was the investigating and arresting officer .
On May 18 at 3:36 a . m . at 13th Street and North First Road , there was a DWI arrest .
Officer Travis Hoffman was on patrol in the area of First Road and West Orchard Street when he observed a dark color Mustang traveling in a reckless manner southbound on West Orchard Street , Friel said .
Hoffman followed the vehicle and stopped it at the intersection of 13th Street and First Road
The driver identified as Kimberly Castilla , 21 , of Waterford , N . J . was found to be operating under the influence .
She was placed under arrest , transported to police headquarters for processing and charged with following motor vehicle violations : driving under the influence , reckless driving , careless driving and failing to maintain lane of travel .
She was released as per John ’ s law pending court appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court .
Hoffman was the investigating and arresting officer .
Police responded to a stolen vehicle call on May 16 at 8:45 a . m . at the prime block of Alexander Drive . A 2023 Kia Tucson was taken from the driveway during the evening prior , Friel said .
Prior to being stolen , the vehicle was locked with a key inside the vehicle .
The vehicle was located using a Kia app and was found in Atlantic City .
The vehicle was recovered by Atlantic City Police Department .
Friel said there was also a stolen vehicle out of Egg Harbor City , which was left parked on Alexander Drive .
Hammonton police located the stolen vehicle .
