Marjorie “ Margie ” R . Pullia

Marjorie “ Margie ” R . Pullia ( née Ruberton ), 87 , of Hammonton , passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday , May 10 , 2022 .
Margie was born on April 30 , 1935 in Hammonton where she was a lifelong resident . She is a 1953 graduate of St . Joseph High School , and she earned a bachelor ’ s degree in business from Immaculata College in 1957 .
In 1960 , Margie married the late Paul Pullia ; they were married for 48 years until his death in 2008 . The couple raised four children together and owned the M . L . Ruberton Agency , an insurance and real estate firm now operated by their sons .
Margie was known for her quick wit , unwavering faith and devotion to her children and her large and loving family . Perhaps she will be most remembered for her long-standing service to the community and many small acts of kindness over the years .
Marjorie volunteered extensively for local civic , religious and educational organizations including Kessler Memorial Hospital and the March of Dimes , and she was an active member of St . Martin de Porres Church and St . Joseph Church . She served on the Board of the Hammonton Library and eventually became Commissioner of the Atlantic County Library Commission .
She was awarded the Woman of Distinction from the Soroptimist Club , and she received the “ Nice Going Award ” from the Hammonton Chamber of Commerce in 1998 .
Marjorie was most passionate about her work on behalf of her alma mater , St . Joseph High School , where she was a member of the Booster Club and the PTA . In 2018 , St . Joe honored Margie with the Generosity Award at a celebration in Atlantic City .
Margie is predeceased by her husband , Paul Pullia ; her father , Michael L . Ruberton ; mother , Gilda ( née Falciani ) Ruberton ; and sister , Dorothy Berenato .
Margie will be deeply missed by her friends and family members . She is survived by her sons , Paul Pullia Jr . and his wife Joanne of Hammonton ; Michael Pullia and his wife Cherie of Hammonton ; daughters , Michele Pullia Turk and her husband Russell of Cos Cob , Conn . and Maryann McKeown and her husband Michael of Shamong . Also surviving are nine grandchildren , Gabrielle , Danielle and Paul Pullia , Michael and Katherine Turk , Sophia and Olivia Pullia and Michael and Melina McKeown .
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Sunday , May 15 , 2022 from 6 p . m . to 9 p . m . at the Marinella Funeral Home , 102 N . Third Street in Hammonton . Another viewing will be held on Monday , May 16 , 2022 , at 10 a . m . at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish- St . Joseph ’ s Church in Hammonton with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a . m . Entombment will be at Greenmount Cemetery . In lieu of flowers , the family requests donations be made to the St . Vincent de Paul Society , 226 French St . Samuel Siligato , 72 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday , May 3 , 2022 while surrounded by family and friends .
Samuel was born on January 16 , 1950 and was a lifelong resident of Hammonton . He was one of two children born to Santos and Theresa ( DePalma ) Siligato .
Samuel was a businessman his entire life running multiple successful companies . From the first Arcade on Bellevue Avenue in Hammonton as well as The Siligator Inn and Garden State Trucking .
In retirement Samuel enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and had a deep love for his cats . He entertained everyone with his joke telling .
He is survived by his wife , Ruth Stiteler ; two sons , David ( Victoria ) Siligato and Brian ( Pattyann ) Siligato ; and stepchildren , Raymond ( Heather ) Stiteler , Jennifer ( Kevin ) Baily and Kelly ( Brian ) Ditzel . He was Pop-Pop to 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren . Sam is also survived by his friend and caregiver Christine Raio .
Family and friends are invited to his visitation Friday , May 13 , 2022 from 5 p . m . to 7 p . m . at Marinella Funeral Home 102 N . Third St . Hammonton , N . J ., with funeral services to follow at 7 p . m . In lieu of flowers , donations may be made to St . Joseph Church , 226 French St ., Hammonton , NJ 08037 . Cremation will be held privately . POLICE , from Page 1 the shooting that took place on the
200 block of Peach Street on April 30 , Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said . Berenato was picked up as the accused in the shooting , Friel said .
Following his arrest , Berenato was processed and transported to the Atlantic County Jail , Friel said .
An investigation conducted by Officer John Amendolia III with Officer Richard Brown and Lt . Donald Kunen ended in a warrant arrest of Berenato for the following charges , Friel said : seven counts of aggravated assault , unlawful possession of a weapon , possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose , certain persons not to have weapons and seven counts of endangering another person .
According to Friel , Berenato , the alleged shooter , was targeting one resident of the house on the 200 block of Peach Street .
“ There was a motive directed at a resident of the household . It wasn ’ t a random act . It was directed at one of the individuals living in the residence on the 200 block of Peach Street . Berenato jeopardized the safety of other people living at that residence and our whole community through his actions of April 30 ,” Friel said .
Friel said the charges against Berenato were due to his alleged actions on April 30 .
“ These charges are for shooting a handgun at an occupied residence on April 30 . There were six

Friel : Berenato was alleged shooter

Henrietta A . Bucci ( nee Schairer ), 94 , of Hammonton passed away on Thursday , May 5 , 2022 .
She was born on October 12 , 1927 in Galloway , N . J . and grew up on her parents ’ farm , Hillcrest Dairy in Galloway . She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for her husband ’ s business as a Sealtest Milk Distributor for 25 years . In her younger days she enjoyed sewing , roller skating , ice skating , horseback riding , dancing , boating , swimming and acquired many bowling trophies . Yetta was always kind to animals . Her home was always open for conversation with friends and family . She enjoyed reading , playing scrabble , doing puzzles and crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren .
Henrietta is predeceased by her husband of 65 years , Guy F . Bucci Sr .; her parents , Francis J . and Anna Schairer ; her brother , Francis Schairer Jr .; and sisters , Stella Tetrault , Magdaline Braun , Dorothy Grillo and Ernestine McCaughey .
She is survived by her daughter , Christine Ferrigno and her husband David ; her son , Guy F . Bucci Jr . and his wife Linda ; her grandchildren , Lynn Bucci ( Michael Auer ), Lauren Thomas ( Ben ), Guy P . Bucci ( Toni ); David Ferrigno Jr . and Lindsay Ferrigno ( Steph ); her two sisters , Roberta Franchetti and Margaret Walters ; her brother , Louis Schairer ( Judy ); two sisters-in-law , Maria Bucci and Miriam Bucci ; and many nieces and nephews .
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday , May 10 , 2022 , 10:30 am in St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish , Church of St . Joseph ’ s 226 French St ., Hammonton . Burial followed in Greenmount Cemetery , Hammonton . A viewing was held on Monday , May 9 , 2022 , 7 p . m . to 9 p . m . at the Carnesale Funeral Home , 202 S . Third St ., Hammonton .

shots at the residence … There are two apartments in the building , one upstairs and one downstairs . I believe the person being targeted lived in the downstairs apartment ,” Friel said .
Friel said police had evidence that led to the actions law enforcement took against Berenato on May 6 .
“ We had camera video and statements of witnesses that led to the formulation of the warrant , search warrant and arrest ,” Friel said .
Berenato was arrested , processed and transported to the Atlantic County Jail last week and remains there , Friel said , adding that the police department worked to make sure an arrest was made in a timely and proper manner .
“ It ’ s very important to the Hammonton Police Department to ensure the safety and peace of our community , and we certainly work diligently to ensure that . It ’ s important to our officers that we ’ re involved to keep our community safe and they worked skillfully and passionately , putting in extra time to complete this case as quickly as possible , leaving no stones unturned to locate evidence ,” Friel said .
Amendolia was the arresting and charging officer , Friel said .
This report is comprised of arrests and investigations made by the men and women of local enforcement . All suspects and arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law .
