“ They started on the roof . We ’ ve got all the roofing replaced . We ’ re closing [ April 8 ] … they have to replace the windows that are in the roof , and because of where they are there ’ s potential danger to everyone in the building ,” Bebbington said .
With the finishing touches of the roof , the branch has to close down due to safety concerns . Bebbington made it clear that the safety of the community was the focus , which resulted in the branch having to close for a day . The work on the roof shouldn ’ t take long , Bebbington added , and could be done in around a half a day . The roof itself has been finished , the windows in the roof are the only features that need to be finished .
Weather was a concern for the project , as working in the rain on the roof could cause some safety concerns for the construction workers . The physical work done to the roof had caused some noise concerns with the branch , as the roof was made of metal .
“ There were days where it was noisy , but they started before we opened , and closed shortly after lunch ,” Bebbington said .
The gutters of the roof have some work that needs to be finished as well , adding to the projects needed to be finished on the exterior of the building .
The retention pond in the back of the library has had some major improvements as well , as the

pond ’ s greenery was overgrown and not up to standard with Bebbington and the branch . The pond was soon cleared out , to revamp the area and bring some new life to the pond . These improvements were made to the library before the 40th anniversary , with some other finishing touches in progress .
“ We ’ re waiting for the fence to be put up around our retention pond that was cleared out ,” Bebbington said .
The fence around the pond would make sure that unwanted visitors and animals couldn ’ t access the pond , which helps with the restoration of the area . There was also discussion of a fence

The generator was a new addition to the branch , adding to the long list of projects the library wanted to accomplish .
The community has not really noticed the work being done to the branch , Bebbington added , as most of the work was completed when the branch was closed . Some people in the community have come up to Bebbington asking about the new LED lights in the building , which bring more light to areas in the library where it may not have had a ton of access before .
“ A few people asked us , they were happy to hear it was getting done ,” Bebbington said .
While the branch has had some major work done , some of the work needs a bit more time to complete , but Bebbington assures that the projects will be done in May at the latest .
