“I’m excited. Honestly, there

to do something on this,” Bachalis
said.
In other business, the commis-
sion agreed to grant a waiver for
an Environmental Impact State-
ment requirement for 360
Fairview LLC, the company who
owns the property leased by In-
tegrity Medical Devices on 360
Fairview Ave. Representing 360
Fairview LLC was attorney
Charles Gemmel. Also in atten-
dance were Integrity Medical De-
vices president Carlton Kimber
and vice president George
Hughes.
360 Fairview LLC is attempting
to perform an infill in the center of
the U-shaped structure, construct-
ing a 4,000-square-foot addition to
the 32,000-square-foot building.
Integrity Medical Devices has
filed an application for a use vari-
ance from the zoning board of ad-
justment but didn’t feel that the
nature of the project warranted an
EIS being prepared.
Members of the commission
agreed with the 360 Fairview and
Integrity’s views on why an EIS
waiver is appropriate. Bachalis
said because it is an infill project,
the surrounding area of the prop-
erty shouldn’t be affected.
“An infill project is a nice proj-
ect because you’re not expanding
the exterior footprint ... so it’s a
nice use of space,” Bachalis said.
A motion to grant a waiver for
the EIS request was made by com-
mission member Terri Caruso-
Cafiso, seconded by commission
member Angela Donio and ap-
proved unanimously.
In other news, the following
committee reports were given dur-
ing the meeting:
• Town Council (Councilman
Joseph Giralo): The Hammonton
Lake is going to be sprayed to get
rid of invasive plant species be-
tween May 15 and May 30. Also,
the state has contacted the town re-
garding the prospect of recon-
structing a piece of the White
Horse Pike near the lake dam. Gi-
ralo said the town is asking for a
walkway to be built connecting
Sail Lake Professional Center to
the Kessler Medical Arts Complex
so people do not have to walk near
traffic on the White Horse Pike.
• Parks and Recreation Com-
mission (Caruso-Cafiso): The
Hammonton Dog Park success-
fully opened with a ribbon cutting
ceremony on April 1. Also, the
Hammonton Little League season
has begun and all of its fields are
in “good shape.”
• Hammonton Lake Water
Quality Advisory Committee
(Bachalis): The committee met on
April 11 and discussed lake water
quality issues with two New Jer-
sey Department of Environmental
Protection (NJ DEP) biologists.
Topics discussed included the con-
dition of the Hammonton Lake.
The discussion was made in order
to revise the Hammonton Lake
Management Plan, which will be
revisited before the committee’s
next meeting, to which Bachalis
invited the rest of the Environmen-
tal Commission to attend.
• Bicycle Advisory Committee
