Olivo, esquire, 69, of Galloway, died at home after a brief illness with his loving wife by his side. Born in Philadelphia, he was raised in Hammonton and moved to Gal- loway 15 years ago. He currently was working for Mitsubishi while maintaining his private law practice in Hammonton. Olivo was a former member of the Hammonton Kiwanis Club, he served as solicitor for the town of Hammonton for many years and served as a member of the Hammonton Board of education for five years. He also served as solic- itor for the Board of adjustment. He is survived by his wife, Leeanne Olivo (nee Cappuccio) and her daughter, Charlee Defebbo of atlantic City; his brother, William Olivo and his wife Melanie and their children, Caitlin Cifaloglio (Vince) and Jason Olivo (Katie); his son, frank Olivo; his daughters, Stephanie Olivo and Kristin LeBeau; five grandchil- dren; his brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. a funeral service will be held today, Wednesday april 17, 2019, 7:30 p.m. in Calvary Chapel, 660 S. egg Harbor road, Hammonton, where a visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul food Pantry, 226 french St., Hammonton. arrangements made by Carnesale funeral Home. Catherine Amendolia Catherine amendolia, (nee Saglia), 91, of Hammonton died peace- fully at home on Saturday, april 13, 2019 surrounded by her loving fam- ily and friends. Born on June 20, 1927 she was raised in Landisville, N.J. and was a graduate of Vineland High School Class of 1946. She attended Pierce Business School in Philadelphia. She married Dominic P. amendolia in 1949 and moved to Hammonton where in 1956 they established their family business, Columbia Hotel & Catering and in the early 1970s Co- lumbia ii restaurant and Caterers. amendolia enjoyed cooking for and entertaining family and friends, traveling, especially visiting relatives in Malcesine Lake Garda, italy, and watching the Phillies, her aqua aero- bics classes with “the girls” and silver sneakers. She was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, and treasurer of the atlantic County tavern association for several years. Her five children, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild were her greatest joy. She is predeceased by her parents, Benigno and Pasqua Saglia; her husband, Dominic P. amendolia; her brother, John Saglia and his wife Sara and her son-in-law David Volz. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Volz, Loretta ingemi and her husband David; Donna amendolia; her sons, Dominic amendolia and his wife Sheila; Henry amendolia (all of Hammonton); her grandchildren, David and Nicole ingemi, renee ingemi, Katie and fred Cicilioni, erin and Kevin rizzotte, Dominic and Maggie amendolia, ryan amendolia, andrea Volz and her great-grandchild, Grayson rizzotte; many nieces, nephews and loving friends, especially ruthie Brown who brightened her days, Kim, Dawn and Connie. a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, Wednesday, april 17, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Mary of Mt. David Lance Parkhurst Sr. David Lance Parkhurst Sr., 78, of Sweetwater, born and raised in Hammonton, died on friday, april 5, 2019 to be again with his beloved wife Marge. a chance encounter at the Midway Diner while he was on leave from the Marine Corp and Marge was visiting a college classmate led to love at first sight and love that would endure for 56 years. the result of Marge’s childhood polio affliction created a wheelchair need later in life so he built her a new handicapped accessible home in Sweetwater. Parkhurst was a people person and his engaging personality followed him, whether selling John Deere tractors to his grower friends or insur- ance for Prudential. His musical talents began at Hammonton High and continued to the United Methodist Church of absecon where his tenor voice graced the choir for decades. Hammonton fire Company Number two fulfilled his desire for adven- ture, especially competition to be there first. to his children and grandchildren, he was “father of the Year” for his help in their projects; to friends, outstanding, respected, a joy to be with. He is predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (nee rocap) and his parents, W Hubbard Parkhurst and wife Harriet (nee Littlefield). Born in Philadelphia, Olivo was raised in Hammonton and moved to Galloway twp. 15 years ago, his obituary said. Olivo’s brother William Olivo recalled their close relationship. Enrico F. Franchina enrico f. franchina, 64, died on friday april 12, 2019 at the Health Center at Galloway-LtC after a lengthy illness. Born in florence, italy, franchina has resided in Hammonton most of his life. He worked as a motor mechanic at Ocean Yachts in Green Bank, N.J. and recently had worked at restuccio Produce in Hammon- ton. He is predeceased by his father, Giovanni. Philomena Pinto Cullen Philomena Pinto Cullen, 86, beloved wife of Louis Cullen of trum- bull, Conn., died on Saturday, april 13, 2019 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Hammonton on January 2, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Maria Pinto and had been a longtime resident of trum- bull, Conn., and Margate. Cullen was a devoted parishioner of Christ the King Church where she was a Catechism teacher for many years. She enjoyed playing bridge, doing crossword puzzles and loved working in her gardens planting flowers; although her greatest joy came from spend- ing time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. She is predeceased by a sister, rosemarie DeMaria and a brother, Danny thomas Pinto. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, anthony (tony) Gattuso; her parents, an- tonio and Brigita DeMarco; six brothers, Joseph, anthony, Vincent, Michael, Charles, and Bill and two sisters, elizabeth and Lena. Our daily discussions revolved around food, like where we had eaten, what we were cooking for other people who were coming over. that may have been our up- bringing at the market [Olivo’s Market]. We spoke about it al- most every day,” William Olivo said. a former councilman, William Olivo had the unique experience of serving on town council while his brother frank Olivo was also serving as town solicitor in the early 2000s. “i think frank liked being in- volved in serving the people of the town of Hammonton, particu- larly with his legal background re- garding municipal law and land use. He was extremely dedicated to the position of town solicitor. When we were serving together, he and i each had our own minds regarding the issues, and neither one of us would attempt to change each other’s minds on an issue. He was absolutely someone i would go to for a legal opinion as solicitor, because i knew he knew the law,” William Olivo said. frank Olivo currently was working for Mitsubishi while maintaining his private law prac- tice in Hammonton, according to his obituary. two of frank Olivo’s former law partners in the former law firm of Donio, Olivo and Howell paid tribute to him when con- tacted by The Gazette this past week. “i’ll remember frank as a highly-respected colleague and as my long-time friend. He was ex- tremely hard-working and intelli- gent, and was very dedicated to his clients. He believed in giving back to his community. He also had a great sense of humor.
