Thibault seeking Miss NJ Outstanding Teen title
THIBAULT , from Page 1 organization is engaged in helping the community .
“ It is really all about community service . That ’ s the biggest part of everything . It does sound like a beauty pageant but it ’ s really not . Yes there ’ s talent ; yes , there ’ s fitness , but truthfully your interview is a bigger social impact statement ,” Carol Thibault said .
The Miss New Jersey Outstanding Teen pageant also features a social impact initiative from all competing members . Thibault will discuss peer empowerment and combating the sound of silence . Thibault said that being an outlet for someone who is struggling is rewarding , and she wants to show her peers that asking for help is OK and even encouraged .
For the pageant itself , Thibault has been busy with trying to prepare for the competition . The preparation for a pageant like Miss New Jersey Outstanding Teen is tedious , but helps tremendously .
“ I ’ ve been working out , eating healthy , and just doing all the
extracurriculars that I do . There is a talent portion , and I do dance , so I ’ ve been working on my dance , working on my songs . For interview , I get together with my directors , which are people that own the title I currently have that help us get ready for this big competition , and we do mock interviews so that really helps ,” Jenna Thibault said .
The support that the community has shown Thibault was something she wanted to address , saying how through support , they have been able to raise more money for their scholarship funds .
“ I want to thank everyone , all the people and companies in Hammonton who have supported me and put an ad into the Miss New Jersey Outstanding Teen book , because all that money is going to scholarships . Our scholarship fund has grown tremendously because of everyone that has contributed ,” Thibault said .
Miss New Jersey Outstanding Teen is on June 24 , and the pageant will be held in Resorts Casino in Atlantic City .
