Ralph A . Morano ralph a . Morano , 86 , devoted family man and former Hammonton mayor , died peacefully on Monday , March 22 , 2021 at home with his family by his side . raised in his family ’ s home at the corner of Weymouth and South egg Harbor roads , ralph graduated in 1953 from Hammonton High School , where he was a three-sport athlete and football team co-captain as a senior . He continued his education at Stuyvesant School for Boys , a prep academy in Warrenton , Va . after an honorable discharge from the U . S . army in 1958 , Morano returned to Hammonton and played for Hammonton Brewers semi-pro football team , finishing his career as coach and general manager of the Hammonton Bakers in 1965 . it also was around this time that he joined the family business , James Morano and Sons Paper and Cleaning Supplies . He served as executive Vice President , working alongside his brothers — each sharing roles as warehouse foremen , salesmen , drivers and managers — for 40 years before retiring in 2004 .

He was elected to Hammonton town Council in 1982 and would eventually serve eight terms over the course of three decades . He was elected mayor in 1995 , serving one term . Other public service positions included Chair of the Hammonton Municipal Utilities authority and member of the atlantic County ethics Board . Morano was a proud member of the Hammonton Lions Club for 42 years . aside from public service , his passions included thoroughbred and harness horseracing , watching Philadelphia ’ s sports teams ( particularly the eagles ) and gathering each morning for breakfast with good friends . an avid horseman , ralph owned several thoroughbreds through his partnership in Shamong farms and later Manhattan Stables . retirement gave ralph the time for his greatest passion : spending time with his wife and family , traveling the area year-round to watch his grandchildren play a variety of sports for their high school , club and college teams .
He is predeceased by parents , James and Jennie ; brothers , James , Michael , anthony and rocco Morano ; and sisters , Mary thurston , Carmella Washburn , rita farrell and Gladys Pilman . Surviving are his devoted wife , Lois ( nee Daley ); his two sons , ralph and his wife Claudine of Moorestown , N . J . and Greg and his wife Doobie of Hammonton ; his brother , John Morano and his wife Marge of Hammonton ; and sister-in-law , anna Morano of Hammonton . He was the loving grandfather of Gregory , Kasey , Maddie , Mason , alec and eric Morano . family and friends attended his viewing on Mach 27 , 2021 from 9:30 a . m . to noon at the Marinella funeral Home , 102 N . third St ., Hammonton , N . J . a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 12:30 p . m . at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish – St . Joseph Church 3rd & french Streets Hammonton , N . Carmen “ Whispers ” Inferrera

Carmen “ Whispers ” inferrera , 90 , of Hammonton died peacefully on Monday , March 22 , 2021 .
Carmen was a lifelong resident of Hammonton . Carmen was born on October 29 , 1930 to Placido and Maria ( nee anastasia ) inferrera at 386 fairview ave ., Hammonton . in 1952 he married antoinette Monzo and moved to her family ’ s homestead on Middle road where he soon became part of the “ Middle road Gang .” from 1945 to 1951 he worked as a taping machine operator at Hammonton Park Clothes . He was drafted into the United States Marine Corps on November 5 , 1951 and served in the Korean War . after his honorable discharge on November 4 , 1953 , he went back to work in the clothing factory , owned by William Kessler , as a sleeve setter on men ’ s suit jackets — most notably he worked on the suit jacket of the 36th President of the United States Lyndon B . Johnson . Carmen was a member of the amalgamated Clothing Workers of america . in 1976 he left the factory to take a job with Wm . Crescenzo inc ., Hammonton , N . J ., where he worked until his retirement at age 65 .
“ Whispers ” was a gold card member of the Sons of italy Giuseppe Garibaldi Lodge 1658 since June 1 , 1952 . He was the longest tenured member and well respected by his fellow brothers there . every friday night he played pinocle at the Sons with his longtime friend and card playing partner tony “ Peewee ” Pavesi . in addition to being a loyal member of the Sons , Carmen loved the horse races and spent many a day at “ the track .”
Carmen is predeceased by his wife , antoinette ( nee Monzo ); his parents , Placido and Maria ( nee anastasia ) inferrera ; his sisters , theresa rodio and frances Capelli ; and his brother , Nick .
Surviving are his daughter , Marie inferrera Holmdal and her husband Jay a . Holmdal ; granddaughter , alexis M . Holmdal Callahan and her husband Michael ; and granddog , Sophie . He is also survived by cousins and many nieces , nephews , great-nieces , great-nephews and even a few great-great nieces and great-great nephews . He was dedicated to his family . family and friends attended his Mass of Christian Burial , March 25 , 2021 , 11 a . m ., at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish St . Joseph Church , third and french Streets , Hammonton , N . J . Burial and military honors followed in Greenmount Cemetery 124 S . first rd . Hammonton , N . J . Due to the pandemic , there was no public visitation prior to the Mass of Christian Burial ; however , a Celebration of Life gathering will be planned for later in the year at the Sons of italy in Carmen ’ s honor . in lieu of flowers , donations may be made in Carmen ’ s memory to N . J . Health Hospice and Palliative Care , 415 W . Landis ave . Vineland , NJ 08360 , or to a charity of choice . arrangement made by Marinella funeral Home .

Dr . Prasad Devineni

Dr . raghu Krishna Prasad Devineni , 76 , also lovingly known as “ Dr . Prasad ,” of Vineland , N . J . died on thursday March 18 , 2021 due to complications of aLS . He was surrounded by his wife and three children when he took his last breath after a brave battle at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston .
Prasad was born in eluru , india and immigrated to the United States in 1973 where he completed his medical residency at Harlem Hospital in New York City . He then moved to Vineland , N . J . in 1977 where he lived with his family in the same home for 44 years .
Prasad was a well-known and much-loved figure in Hammonton , N . J . where he served his patients as a pediatrician for over 40 years . He treated generations of families in the area from his offices at 777 Professional Center . He loved being a doctor and taking care of his children . He was very fond of his co-workers and the entire Hammonton community .
Prasad also loved to cook and care for his family and friends . His generosity , kind spirit and gentle manner were felt by all who had the honor to know him . Prasad ’ s greatest passions were his two grandchildren , Somya and Jay who he loved with all his heart , and the Philadelphia eagles — who he loyally followed and celebrated when they finally won big in 2018 .
Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years , anne Kumari Devineni ; three children , ram Devineni , Syam Devineni and his wife Pamela and tara Devineni and her husband Praveen ; two beautiful grandchildren , Somya and Jay ; and devoted family and friends in both india and across the United States . Dr . Prasad will be missed and cherished .

Anne Bruno anne Bruno , 96 , of Hammonton died peacefully on tuesday , March 23 , 2021 at her residence .

Born in Hammonton she was a lifelong resident . anne was a graduate of Hammonton High School Class of 1942 . She became associated with her dad in Bruno Oil Co . for several years after graduating . She then enjoyed being a mom to her two children . Later in life anne joined the workforce as a real estate agent , which led to her career in the title insurance business . She became manager and assistant vice president of Chelsea title & Guaranty Company in Hammonton . She remained in the title business for 40 years . anne was trustee emeritus of the Hammonton Chamber of Commerce and a charter member of Kessler Hospital foundation . During her earlier years she was active in several organizations and chaired numerous fundraising events for St . Joseph ’ s Church and P . t . a , Catholic Daughters , atlantic County Junior Miss Program , St . augustine Preparatory School , Deborah Hospital and the Soroptimist Club in Hammonton . She also sang in St . Joseph ’ s Church Choir for 40 years , which gave her much pleasure . anne is predeceased by her parents , Charles and Mary Bruno ; her brother and sister-inlaw , frank and Louise Bruno ; her sister and brother-in-law , Grace and Lance Littlefield ; and her brother and sister-in-law , Charles and Kay Bruno .
Surviving are her son , robert Berenato ; her daughter , Judi Gibson ; and several nieces , nephews and very dear friends . funeral services and burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family . in lieu of flowers , memorial donations may be made to St . John J . Caruso

John J . Caruso , 81 , of Hammonton died on Wednesday , March 17 , 2021 .
John was born in Hammonton and was a lifelong resident . He was owner operator of the family farm , Caruso farms . Based on his lifelong hobby of hand lettering signs , he was also later employed at Bally ’ s entertainment in atlantic City until his retirement in 2004 . He served in the New Jersey army-air National Guard . He was active in the farming community serving on the Cape-atlantic Soil Conservation District Board , the New Jersey farm Bureau and the atlantic County Board of agriculture , where he served as president . He was also a parishioner in Saint anthony ’ s of Padua Church in Hammonton , serving as an usher and as a volunteer in the annual feast of Saint anthony Chicken Barbecue staff . in the latter , he was well remembered for his funnel cake stand .
John is predeceased by his parents , John and Helen Caruso ( nee Montalto ) as well as his two brothers , Joseph ( Pauline ) and Charles ( alice ).
Surviving are his two sons , John Caruso , MD ( antonia ) of Haddonfield , N . J . and Christopher Caruso ( Kelly ) of Hammonton ; and the mother of his children , emma Caruso . He was a loving grandfather to Christopher Caruso ii , Kelsey Caruso and John William Caruso ii . He will also be greatly missed by his dear friends in “ the Breakfast Gang .” family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Saturday , april 10 2021 from 11 a . m . to 1 p . m . at the Marinella funeral Home 102 N . third St . Hammonton , N .
