Debra A . Samuelson

Debra A . Samuelson ( née Berenato ) passed away peacefully with her little sister and brother by her side on Thursday , March 14 after a long , courageous battle with cancer . She was 54 .
Debbie was a 1987 graduate of Hammonton High School . She was retired from the Atlantic County Utilities Authority , after which she worked for All-Vinyl Fence and became a consultant for Thirty-One Gifts .
Debbie was a rabid fan of Disney ( especially Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney World ), the Las Vegas Raiders , unicorns and the movie The Outsiders . She loved crafting , swimming , spending time with friends and family ( and her two cats , Sully and Figaro ), and watching her son excel at sports .
Debbie is predeceased by : Joseph G . Samuelson ; their daughter , Kelly Rose Samuelson ; and her mother , Frances L . Berenato .
Debbie is survived by her son , Joseph A . Samuelson ; her father , Anthony J . Berenato ( Heidi ); her sister , Anna E . Warburton ( Michael ); her brother , Joseph F . Berenato ( Robyn ); her cousin , Jaime L . Cirillo ; two stepsisters , Melissa Brower and Nicole DeAnnuntis ; and many nephews , nieces and friends — all of whom will miss her terribly .
A visitation will be held on Tuesday , March 19 , 2024 from 6:00 p . m . - 8:00 p . m at the Carnesale Funeral Home , 202 S . Third Street in Hammonton , where a celebration of Debbie ’ s life will be held at 8:00 p . m . Burial at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton will be held at the convenience of the family . In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hammonton High School Blue Devils Pantry , 566 Old Forks Road , Hammonton , NJ 08037 .

David J . Longo , Jr .

David J . Longo , Jr ., 89 , of Buena passed away on Sunday , March 17 , 2024 at the Hammonton Rehabilitation Center . He retired from Ancora Hospital where he served as their Fire Chief , he also worked in the maintenance department . David was a longtime member of the Our Lady of Mt . Carmel Society where he was on the board of directors .
He is survived by his wife , Joanne B . Longo ( nee Beacham ); his children , Diane Klouser ( Kerry ), David Longo ( Connie ), and Kathy Demastes ( David ); his step children , Nicholas Petruzzi ( Shannon ), Dawn Ebright ( Josh ); his grandchildren , Wayne Fichetola , Mary Baglivo ( James ), David Longo , Jackie Behrens ( Tom ), Charles Palmieri ; his great grandchildren , James , Vincenzo and Joseph Baglivo , Leanna Brittany , Dylan ; Daisey Fichetola and Cole Behrens ; and many nieces , nephews , cousins and friends .
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday , March 21 , 2024 , 11:30 a . m . in St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish Church of St . Joseph ’ s , 226 French St ., Hammonton . Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery , Hammonton . A viewing will be held Thursday , March 21 , 2024 from 9 a . m . - 11 a . m . at the Carnesale Funeral Home , 202 S . Third St ., Hammonton .

Hammonton police make several arrests

HAMMONTON — Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said there was a DWI arrest on March 11 at 10:48 p . m . at the 200 Block of Pleasant Mills Road .
Police responded to an unwanted person call from Yorktown Boulevard and the caller accused Jose Rivera-Carreon , 40 , of Hammonton . He was found parked at the 200 Block of Pleasant Mills Road in the driver ’ s seat of the vehicle .
There was alcoholic beverages next to the driver ’ s side door , and Rivera-Carreon ’ s speech was slurred and eyes watery and bloodshot , Friel said .
Corporal Kyle Ambrozaitis detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from Rivera-Carreon ’ s person .
Rivera-Carreon was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing .
He was released as per John ’ s law pending court appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court .
Ambrozaitis was the investigating and arresting officer .
On March 13 at 3:45 a . m ., police were called to the 100 Block of 12th Street in reference to a shoplifter .
Officer Leslie Sabatini responded to the convenience store and was informed that Brent Walker , 62 , of Camden , N . J . had taken merchandise into the bathroom with him and came out of the bathroom without said merchandise in his hands .
Sabatini spoke with Walker , and Walker advised that he did not take anything and did not have anything on him , Friel said .
Video camera footage was reviewed , and police found that Walker had multiple arrest warrants .
