Learn about the history of the newspaper ! is a great event as it allows people to enter the establishments and businesses and get a feel for what they have to offer as well as enjoying them .
“ The restaurants that are signed up for the fundraiser , our hope is that more people go into these establishments to get the discount or the special item and to also enjoy their establishment so that they kind of get their name out . In turn , you ’ re also raising money for the schools , which is an awesome thing also ,” Heggan said .
Struble believes that this fundraiser is a wonderful opportunity for people to donate to the HEF and are grateful for the vendors and restaurants that are participating .
“ I feel it is a wonderful opportunity for people to donate to the HEF and we are so grateful for all of our vendors who participate year after year . It enables us to raise a lot of funds for our school district ,” Struble said .
While COVID-19 motivated the HEF to change the format
from a physical event to a ticketed event in a two-month span , Calderone likes the event and believes this will help restaurants and businesses in Hammonton .
“ I like this event , we used to do it in person and this will be our 20th year but due to COVID-19 and we had to do a virtual event such as the ticket . Since then , with restaurants not being able to find help and supply chain issues , we figured this is a better event to do until things straighten out . Having our people go into their businesses , to help give them some business for all of the years they gave back to us ,” Calderone said .
