Crowley , Stockton university being honored by Chamber

Stockton University , which owns and operates Kramer Hall on front Street , renovated the former National Garment / Bertino Clothing factory building and opened the instructional site just a few years ago .

HaMMONtON — the Hammonton Board of education held their regular meeting on february 9 , 2017 . as stated in the agenda , the board approved the following amounts :
• ratify the purchase order lists for December 2016 and January 2017 in the amount of $ 550,150.99
• approve the bill list for february 2017 in the amount of $ 1,042,023.99
• ratify the check lists January and february 2017 in the amount of $ 372,347.87 the board approved the 2017- 2018 tuitions costs for sending districts . the tuition costs per pupil for grades 9 -12 is $ 12,542 and for grades 7 and 8 is $ 11,204 . tuition cost for Special education varies by classification and is as follows : MD ( Multiple Disabilities ) - $ 22,185 ; BD ( Behavioral Disorder ) - $ 26,014 and LLD ( Language Learning Disability ) $ 11,130 . a professional fee and service proposal from Wayne Neville , architect , in the amount of $ 32,500 for the kitchen renovation at the middle school was approved by the board .
“ We will be awarding a contract tonight to begin renovations ... in the middle school kitchen . that kitchen is original from when the building was built in the early 1960s . So , we are happy to be getting that project kicked off and hopefully looking to wrap that up over the summer ,” Hammonton Board Vice President John Lyons said . as stated in the agenda , the board awarded a contract with Spellcaster Productions LLC to install speakers in Gym a , located at the high school , in the amount of $ 21,982 based on lowest quote . the board awarded two contracts to Peterson Service Company : the first is to balance return blower wheel that serves rtU1 located at the high school in the amount of $ 2,200 based on ed Data rates , and the second is to remove , rebuild and reinstall bearing assembly that serves aHU # 6 located at the high school in the amount of $ 6,200 based on ed Data rates . the following contracts were approved by the board at the middle school : Shirk LLC for a pole barn in the amount of $ 9,500 based on lowest quote , and Merit Construction Services inc . for a concrete floor for the pole barn in the amount of $ 1,950 based on lowest quote . the board approved the disposal of antiquated cat walks and iD printer . as stated in the agenda , the board approved the disposal of obsolete library books dated from 1980-1989 located in the middle school . at the elementary school , the board approved the disposal of old student risers . the board approved an extension on unpaid leave of absence for adalgisa Lyons , elementary teacher , from March 2 to april 27 , 2017 . She will be returning on april 28 , 2017 . Lyons abstained . a letter of resignation from Steven andaloro , district part-time bus aide , effective february 22 , 2017 , was approved by the board . the board approved to ratify a letter of resignation from Carolyn M . Gazzara , district bus aide , effective January 26 , 2017 . as stated in the agenda , the board approved the following personnel to provide instruction for our 2017 title i summer programs , achievement academy and Project enrich , pending sufficient NCLB / eSSa fY 18 allocations . Board member Sal Velardi abstained . the board approved Steve Minchak for middle school spring robotics academy to be paid from school choice funds for the 2016- 2017 school year . Minchack payment is $ 1 , 689 each for the spring and fall robotics and advanced robotics academies .
Hammonton Board of education Solicitor William Donio introduced an additional resolution , which was unanimously approved

During the meeting , Board President Sam Mento iii spoke in regards to the school closing on february 9 due to predicted inclement weather .
“ Just briefly to touch on the snow day , obviously , we take the safety and well fare of our students , faculty very , very seriously , and it ’ s our number one priority here , and you know , everyone who watches the news understands that forecasts are not perfect . and , this

Hammonton School Board holds February meeting
