OBITuARIES Lucy Curcio

Lucy ( nee ezzi ) Curcio , 92 , of Hammonton , died on february 9 , 2017 .
Born in West Virginia , Lucy was an area resident nearly all her life . She attended Hammonton High School , where she graduated in 1942 and served in the National Honor Society . She worked as a bookkeeper for Press furniture Store in Hammonton and for John Machise ’ s Newell Clothing factory in Vineland during World War ii . in 1948 , she married Samuel a . Curcio who became a prominent local attorney , judge and public servant . Sam and Lucy together developed the Curcio Law firm of Hammonton where Lucy provided administrative and bookkeeping support into the 21st century . Dating back to the 1950s , Lucy served in many local organizations including the Jay- Cee ettes , the Hammonton regular republican Club , the St . Joseph School Pta and the altar rosary Society of St . Joseph Church . She enjoyed cooking ( especially italian cookies ), attending political functions and supporting her children ’ s athletic and performing arts functions . She loved to spend time with her children preparing holiday dinners and decorating .
Lucy was predeceased by her husband , Samuel a . Curcio , Sr ., her beloved partner in life for 67 years ; her parents , angelina and rocco ezzi and stepfather , anthony ippolitto ; her brothers and sister , Dominic ezzi , Joseph ezzi , Sr . and antoniette Pistone , and her granddaughter , elena Parker . Lucy is survived by her sons , Samuel and his wife , Donna , James and his wife , Jessica , and richard and his wife , Jean all of Hammonton ; her daughter , Susan and husband , Donald J . Parker of Sweetwater ; her grandchildren , Jessica Parker Martin ( Bob ), Matthew Parker , Samuel W . Curcio ( Michelle ), Gregory Parker ( Mary ), Charles , John , timothy , Daniel , Neil and Luke Curcio , and eight great-grandchildren . family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Wednesday , february 15 from 7 p . m . – 9 p . m . and thursday morning from 9 a . m . – 10:30 a . m . all at the Marinella funeral Home , 102 N . third St ., Hammonton , NJ . Thomas S . Buscemi thomas S . Buscemi , 90 , of elm , died suddenly at his home on Saturday , february 4 , 2017 , with his loving wife , Mary , by his side .

Born in atco , tom served in the U . S . army during World War ii and was a member of the Berlin V . f . W . Post # 6253 . He went on to work for Campbell Soup Company for more than 38 years . He served on the Berlin twp . Board of education for many years and worked for the twp . of Berlin . He later worked for the Haines Car Carrier Company in Maple Shade .
He was predeceased by his parents , Salvatore and Concetta Buscemi ; his brothers , Joseph and Salvatore Buscemi and his sister-in-law , Dorothy Buscemi . tom is survived by his wife , Mary t . ( nee Hubert ); his daughters , Donna Mauer of Berlin , Cindy Suders of Magnolia and Susan Buscemi of Hammonton ; his brother , richard Buscemi of elm ; two sisters-in-law , Josephine and Lucille Buscemi and two grandchildren . family and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday , february 11 at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish St Joseph Church , third and french Streets , Hammonton . entombment was in Greenmount Cemetery , 124 S . first rd ., Hammonton .

Elizabeth R . Kirn elizabeth r . “ Betty ” ( nee Milles ) Kirn , 104 , of Hammonton and formerly of Williamstown , died on tuesday , february 7 , 2017 , at the Heritage assisted Living facility in Hammonton .

Born in Philadelphia , she lived in Hammonton for more than 45 years . She was a retired manager at ancora Hospital .
Mrs . Kirn was predeceased by her husband , John J . Kirn Sr .; her son , John J . Kirn Jr . and her two daughters , elizabeth Baker and Claire Miller . She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law , thomas and Joyce Kirn of Hammonton ; her son-in-law , ernest Baker of Woodbury ; one brother , William J . Milles of Warminster , Pa .; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren . family and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday , february 13 , 2017 , in Our Lady of Peace Parish , St . Eugenia Pignatelli eugenia Pignatelli , 66 , of Hammonton , died on february 11 , 2017 . eugenia was born in Hammonton and was a graduate of rutgers University . She worked for the State of Delaware as a health inspector ėugenia was predeceased by her parents , Clarence and Kathleen Pignatelli , and brother , Vincent Bartuccio . She is survived by her brother , Joseph Bartuccio and his wife , Carmel ann of Hammonton , and her sister , Kathleen Brown and her husband , Donald of Cherry Hill . Gregory Joseph Gasiewski Sr ., 67 , of tabernacle , died with loved ones by his side at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia on february 9 , 2017 .
Born february 2 , 1950 , to Joseph and evelyn Gasiewski in Staten island , NY , and raised in Jersey City , Greg attended St . Nicholas Grammar School , Marist High School and graduated from St . Peter ’ s College in Jersey City . Upon graduation , he began his long career in the shipping industry . Greg married Catherine Cranwell of Union City and together they raised their four children , tara , Michele , Gregory Jr . and Kerry . Greg and Cathy celebrated their 40th Wedding anniversary on October 10 , 2016 . in 1990 , Greg had an opportunity to advance his career in the shipping industry in New Orleans , so he and his wife , Catherine , moved their family to Slidell , Louisiana . the eight years spent there were filled with many fond memories and one could always sense the fullness of his heart when Greg talked about Louisiana . While Greg worked two jobs supporting his family for most of his early career , his role as father was always his greatest source of pride and joy . in 1998 , Greg , Cathy , Greg Jr . and Kerry moved to tabernacle , while tara and Michele attended college . Greg and Cathy have called tabernacle home for more than 17 years now . Greg will be remembered for his love and service to his family and his kind and witty nature .
Greg was predeceased by his father , Joseph Gasiewski and his mother , evelyn Gasiewski , and mother-in-law , Catherine M . Cranwell . Greg is survived by his loving wife , Catherine Gasiewski ; his children , tara Hauk ( Jeffrey ) of Davidson , NC , Michele Gasiewski ( Leon tuitt ) of Charlotte , NC , Gregory Gasiewski Jr . of Chicago , ill ., and Kerry echavarria ( José Luis ) of Hammonton ; his brother , robert Gasson of Bayonne ; his two nieces , Caitlin altobelli ( anthony ) and Laura Cranwell , and his four grandchildren , Kyle , Sade , Luke and Gage . family and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday , february 13 at St Mary of Mt . Several arrests made by police last week

HaMMONtON — Police made several arrests last week , including the following , Hammonton Police Lt . Kevin friel said .
• On february 9 at 9:48 a . m ., thomas Harris iii , 59 , of Sicklerville , was arrested on the 200 block of S . White Horse Pike , friel said .
“ the subject called police regarding getting a ride to atlantic City . When the officer responded , he was found to have a ‘ take into custody ’ warrant from Camden County ,” friel said .
Harris was turned over to the Camden County Sheriff ’ s Department , friel said . friel said Officer eric Pohl was the arresting officer .
• On february 10 at 3:16 p . m . on the 300 block of N . Chew road , residents contacted police about a suspicious male in the area wearing gray sweatpants and a black sweatshirt walking through yards , friel said .
Officer William Kurz located him in the area between 13th Street and Chew road , friel said . friel said the man was identified as Nickolas Cataldi , 35 , of Winslow twp .
“ Under questioning , Mr . Cataldi said he had in his possession a hypodermic needle and a bag of heroin . He was also found to have a ‘ no bail ’ warrant from atlantic County Superior Court and a $ 500 warrant from Pine Hill ,” friel said .
Cataldi was processed and transported to the atlantic County Jail , friel said . Kurz was the arresting officer , friel said .
• On february 10 at 9:31 p . m . in the area of eighth Street following a motor vehicle stop , David Bonanata Jr ., 32 , of Hammonton , was found to be in possession of five hypodermic needles , friel said . He was arrested , charged with the possession of the hypodermic needles and released pending a court date , friel said .
Officer Jason rigby was the arresting officer , friel said .

Michael L . Panichelli , 51 , died suddenly on february 10 , 2017 .
Michael was born and raised in Vineland , and was a 1983 graduate of Vineland High School . He continued to receive many technical degrees and was currently employed by Vargo associates Land Surveying in franklinville . His passion was flying helicopters and drones . He was a member of the South Jersey Mustang Club , and he loved classic cars . Michael ’ s greatest passion was being home with his family and pets .
He was predeceased by his father , Nicholas f . Panichelli . He is survived by his wife , Donna De Melia ; his mother , Marlene Panichelli ( nee figarole ) of Millville ; stepchildren , Jonathan Bradley and his wife , Kelly of Vineland , anthony and Victoria Neill of Hammonton ; sister , Leanne Blair and her husband Henry of Cheyney , Pa ., and grandchild , elle Bradley . relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday , february 18 from 9 a . m . to 11 a . m . at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish – St . anthony of Padua Church , 285 rt . 206 , Hammonton . a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a . m . on february 18 .
