P . Charles “ Charlie ” DeStefano Jr .

P . Charles “ Charlie ” DeStefano , Jr ., 67 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away Tuesday , February 6 , 2024 . Charlie was a lifelong Hammonton resident and graduated from Hammonton High School in 1974 . He attended Rutgers University in Camden and graduated in 1978 with a degree in Mathematics . Charlie worked as an assistant store manager at Kmart in Berlin and went on to work for the State of New Jersey , starting as a programmer , from 1984 until his retirement as a senior manager in 2018 . He was active in youth sports where he was the assistant director of HYSA , coached and umpired in the Hammonton Little League and was assistance coach for Bulldogs basketball . Charlie was also a pack leader for the Boy Scouts for several years . Charlie was endlessly devoted to his wife and family , and actively supported his children , nieces and nephews in their endeavors . He had a deep love of music , and preferred more stimulating and fulfilling tasks and activities . He particularly loved to take on challenging puzzles and games , and his great care and attention to detail were regularly on display , such as through the many models and figurines he ’ d assemble . Charlie took pride in designing intricate and fun-filled games and scavenger hunts for his loved ones . He consistently supported his family and friends to be as successful in their lives as they could be .
He is predeceased by his beloved wife , Mary Anne DeStefano ( nee Straus ); and his parents , Pasquale Charles and Alice L . ( nee Rodio ) DeStefano . Charlie is survived by his sons , Pasquale C . “ Pat ” DeStefano , III ( Kelly ), Dante DeStefano ( Kristin ), and Matthew DeStefano ( Kim ); and his brother , David A . DeStefano . He is the loving grandfather of Kayla Cabanero , Emma DeStefano , Collin DeStefano , Hannah DeStefano and Maxwell DeStefano .

Annabel Mitchell

Annabel Mitchell ( nee Scaffidi ), 92 , passed away peacefully February 10 , 2024 at home with her loving family by her side . Annabel was a lifelong resident of Hammonton . She graduated Hammonton High School in 1948 , where she was a student athlete on the women ’ s basketball , field hockey and tennis teams . She went on to work in a series of jobs including Advertising Director for the Hammonton News and Saleswoman at the Ideal Clothing Co . Annabel became Municipal Welfare Director for the town of Hammonton in her ‘ 70s and was deeply committed to her role in supporting those in need . Annabel was also an energetic volunteer for many organizations throughout her life including her children ’ s schools , her parish churches , Kessler Memorial Hospital and many other civic and philanthropic causes . She enjoyed many hours with her friends at the Canoe Club .
Her happiest role was that of wife , mother and grandmother , at which she excelled . She was full of energy always supporting and encouraging her family to pursue whatever goals they set no matter how challenging they were . She laughed easily , had great style , was a fantastic cook , loved her garden , games of chance and cards and animals . She was a person of deep faith .
Annabel is predeceased by her husband , Richard E . Mitchell ; her son , David E . Mitchell ; her siblings , Catherine Lane and Anthony Scaffidi ; and parents , Mary ( nee Jarolle ) and William Scaffidi . Surviving are her daughters , Janice Mitchell Mintz ( Robert ) of Pennington , N . J . and Judith Mitchell Bowley of Medford , N . J . She is the loving grandmother of Daniel ( Tricia ), Elizabeth and Cameron Mintz and Jacob and Steven Bowley . She is also survived by sister-in-law , Carolyn Shaffer .

Carmela V . “ Millie ” Gagliardi ( nee Monzo ), 91 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away peacefully February 7 , 2024 at home with her loving family by her side . Millie was born and raised in Hammonton where she graduated from Hammonton High School in 1950 . She lived in Marlton , N . J . for over 40 years before coming back to Hammonton . Millie worked for Ancora Hospital and the State of New Jersey . She was a member of the Children of Mary and a parishioner of St . Joseph Church .
Millie is predeceased by her husband , Vincent L .
Gagliardi , Sr .; her brother , Joseph Monzo , Sr .; and her parents , Angelo and Josephine ( nee Messina ) Monzo . Surviving are her sons , Vincent L . Marie M . ( Benedetto ) Musgrove

Marie M . ( Benedetto ) Musgrove , 96 of Sun City Center , Fla , passed away peacefully on January 31 , 2024 . Born on November 10 , 1927 in Hammonton , N . J . to Michael and Lucille ( Romano ) Benedetto , she was a long-time resident of Apollo Beach , Fla from 1961 to 1999 , and Sun City Center , Fla . since 1999 .
Marie was an individual of great faith and kindness . Her willingness to help others was constantly displayed in her numerous acts of service . She volunteered at the Tampa Performing Arts Center , South Bay Hospital , as an Election Poll worker , and was an early member of the Apollo Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad . As long-time member of St Anne ’ s Catholic Church in Ruskin , FL , she served as Eucharistic Minister , Lazareth Committee member and collections counter . She was recognized as the 2008 South Bay Hospital ’ s Frist Volunteer Humanitarian Award winner and a 2014 Diocese of St Petersburg St Jude Medal winner . Marie was also an avid sports fan , cheering for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers , Notre Dame football and Duke basketball .
She is preceded in death by her husband , Albert , her four brothers , Daniel ( Rita ), Michael ( Rose ), Anthony ( Mildred ), Louis ( Katherine ) and her sister-in-law Elizabeth . She is survived by her son , Albert , daughter-inlaw Stephanie and her three beloved grandchildren , Cameron , Christian and Mary Elizabeth of Norfolk , Va .
She will be interred with her husband in Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton , N . J . at a future date . Donations in Marie ’ s memory may be made to St Anne ’ s Catholic Church in Ruskin , Fla .

Mary “ Matesy ” ( nee Spack ) Herbert

Mary “ Matesy ” ( nee Spack ) Herbert , 90 , of Hammonton , N . J ., passed away peacefully at home on February 4 , 2024 . Born at home and raised in Philadelphia , she lived in Hammonton for 58 years . She attended Edgar Allen Poe School and graduated from South Philadelphia Girls High School in 1951 . She worked for the Defense Supply Agency in South Philadelphia until her first child was born and then became C . E . O . of the household and managed the dayto-day activities of the family . She was a lifelong parishioner of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church in South Philadelphia . She was asked to join the choir at the age of 12 and continued singing with the choir for over 70 years . She loved to cook and bake and received favorable praise for her desserts , especially her delicious cookies .
Mary is predeceased by her parents , Michael and Mary ( Slivka ) Spack ; and her baby sister , Helen . She is survived by her loving husband of 59 blessed years , Simon “ Sal ” Herbert ; sons , Daniel S . Herbert of Hammonton , N . J . and Thomas S . Herbert ( Kimberly ) of Sanatoga , Pa .; brothers , Michael Spack ( Joyce ) of Claymont , Del . and John Spack ( Michele ) of Stratford , N . J . She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren , Brendan and Brianna Herbert ; and many of her cousins , nieces , nephews great-nieces , great-nephews , and friends .
Funeral services were held on Thursday , Feb . 8 , 2024 , at the Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church in Philadelphia , Pa . She was interred at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery , Springfield , Pa . Reneé Gina Coelho , 42 , of Hammonton went home to be with the Lord after a brief illness . Born in Marlton she was a lifelong area resident . Reneé formerly worked for Greenbriar in Hammonton and Royal Suites in Galloway as a certified nursing assistant . She loved animals especially her cat .
She is predeceased by her maternal grandmother , Bernice Egizi . Reneé is survived by her three children , Olivia Fischer , Mason DiVentura and Pierre Coelho ; her mother , Susan DiSylvestro and her husband Anthony ; her sister , Nina Goss and her husband Chip and their children , Breece , Ava and Jackson Goss ; her brother , Tony DiSylvestro ; her maternal grandfather , Gustavo ( Gus ) Egizi and his wife Judy ; and her aunts , uncles , cousins and friends .
Funeral services will be held Friday , February 16 , 2024 11 a . m . at Calvary Chapel , 660 S . Egg Harbor Road , Hammonton , where a visitation will be held from 10 a . m . until 11 a . m .
