Richard Galletta

Richard “ Dick ” Galletta , 83 , passed away Thursday , January 18 , 2024 . Richard , born in Philadelphia , was raised in Hammonton where he continued to live and work until 2006 , spending his last years in Maple Shade and Monroeville . After graduating from Hammonton High , then Dobbins Technical Institute , Dick took a position with the local union working for Elliot Lewis , a commercial HVAC Company . He then returned to Dobbins Technical Institute , this time as an Instructor until 1972 when Richard and his brother Bob started their own HVAC business , North Air . Richard was an active member of both the Hammonton and Moorestown Congregation of Jehovah ’ s Witnesses where he served as an Elder for 50 years .
Richard is predeceased by his parents , Anthony Galletta Sr . and Camilla Galletta ; and brothers , Dr . Gene Galletta and Anthony “ Bob ” Galletta Jr . He is survived by his wife , Linda ( Nee Ramminger ) of Monroeville ; son , Keith Galletta ( Joanna ) of Hammonton ; daughter , Cammie Gorman ( Kevin ) of Franklinville ; daughter , Jaime Galletta of Berlin ; sons , Shaun Warner ( Carolyn ) of Monroeville and Ryan Warner ( Brittany ) of Cherry Hill ; along with seven grandchildren and one great grandchild .
Family and friends are invited to attend his services on Saturday February 10 at 3 p . m ., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah ’ s Witnesses , 4747 White Horse Pike , Egg Harbor City , NJ 08215 .

Aliana H . Ammann

Aliana H . Ammann , 93 , of Winslow , N . J . passed away peacefully at home on January 26 , 2024 . She was an avid reader and gardener , her happiest moments were spent in the company of her family . Aliana worked as an administrative assistant in various local businesses . She will be remembered for her kindness , generosity and for being a loving wife and mother .
Aliana was predeceased by her husband of fifty nine years , Robert R . Ammann ; and son , James Ammann . She is survived by her loving son , Robert J . Ammann of Winslow .
Private funeral services were held at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish Church of St . Joseph ’ s , and burial was held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery .

Vincent J . Perna

Vincent J . “ Jimmy ” Perna , 85 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away Tuesday January 30 , 2024 in Galloway Twp . N . J . “ Jimmy ” was born and raised in Hammonton , was a graduate of Hammonton High School class of 1956 , played varsity football and went on to receive his Bachelor ’ s Degree from Trenton Teachers College in 1960 . Following college , he took on his given name Vince and began his career as a teacher in Cherry Hill , N . J . where he quickly became involved with the state school employee union , the NJEA . He was then hired as an NJEA UniServ Rep in Bergen County serving Northern N . J . for many years . Vince embraced his newfound home , was an active volunteer for Ramsey Junior Football Association and Ramsey Baseball Association , where he coached his beloved “ Falcons . Eventually , he returned to his roots in South Jersey to live in Hammonton and work in Atlantic and Cape May counties . His passion for his work was what kept him going . Still actively employed , working with associations in Atlantic City , Pleasantville and Buena ( to name a few ). His unwavering dedication to public school employees was not only demonstrated by his commitment to being one of the longest serving NJEA representatives , but also his constant perseverance to go above and beyond for those he served . He truly enjoyed family gatherings for holiday events and sitting outside by the fire pit , with a cigar in hand . He loved the N . J . “ shore ” and in his later years the coast of Southern Maine . Additionally , he was an avid sports fan , rooting for the Eagles and the Phillies .
He is predeceased by his parents , James and Angelina ( nee Moffa ) Perna . Surviving are his wife , Betty Hickey ; children , Timothy J . Perna ( Limin Zhang ), Susan L . Nachinson ( Scott ) and Dean J . Perna ( Gisella Cosentino ), Ross A . Hickey ( Bethany ), Erin J . Hickey ( Sam Higgins ), Cynthia Brito and Alexis C . Rudisel ; as well as his 12 grandchildren , Rachel , Jacob , Alyssa , Amanda , Aaron , Collin , William , Anastasia , Katherine , Alexander , Nola and Violet . He is also survived by his brother , Ronald Perna ( Eleanor ); and his former wife , and mother of his children Sara J . Perna .
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation and a Celebration of his Life Tuesday , February 6th from 11:30 a . m . to 2 p . m . and 4:30 p . m . to 6:30 p . m ., followed by a brief service at Marinella Funeral Home , 102 N . HAMMONTON — A vehicle caught on fire in the parking lot located in the prime block of S . White Horse Pike on Feb . 3 at 3:13 p . m , according to Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel .
Officer William Kurz reported to the scene in reference to a vehicle on fire . The vehicle was described as a 2015 Chrysler , white in color and four-door .
According to Friel , the vehicle ’ s owner advised that a tobacco smoking pipe fell onto the front seat and embers from the pipe caused the front seat to catch on fire . The fire was extinguished by the Hammonton Fire Department , with the assistance of Carmen Mondelli of Haddonfield and the vehicle was then towed .

Marie M . Musgrove

Marie M . ( Benedetto ) Musgrove , 96 , of Sun City Center , Fla , passed away peacefully on Wednesday , January 31st , 2024 . Born on November 10 , 1927 to Michael and Lucille ( Romano ) Benedetto in Hammonton , N . J ., she was a long-time resident of Apollo Beach , Fla . from 1961 to 1999 , and a resident of Sun City Center , Fla since 1999 . Marie was a graduate of Hammonton High School Class of 1945 , working as a bookkeeper .
Marie was an individual of great faith and kindness . Her willingness to help others was constantly displayed in her numerous acts of service . She volunteered as an usher at the Tampa Performing Arts Center , a greeter at South Bay Hospital , and was an early member of the Apollo Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad . As long-time member of St Anne ’ s Catholic Church in Ruskin , Fla ., she served as Eucharistic Minister , Lazareth Committee member and weekly collections counter . She was recognized in 2008 as South Bay Hospital ’ s Frist Volunteer Humanitarian Award winner and in 2014 as the Diocese of St Petersburg St Jude Medal winner for distinguished service as a lay member of St Anne ’ s Parish . Marie was also an avid sports fan , cheering for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers , Notre Dame football and Duke basketball .
She is preceded in death by her husband , Captain Albert F Musgrove , US Merchant Marine , native of Pennsauken , N . J .; her four brothers , Daniel ( Rita ) Benedetto of Hammonton , N . J ., Michael ( Rose ) Benedetto of Hammonton , N . J ., Anthony ( Mildred ) Benedetto of Hammonton , N . J ., Louis ( Katherine ) Benedetto of Cherry Hill , N . J .; and her sister-in-law , Elizabeth Musgrove of Freeland , Md . She is survived by her son , Commander Albert F Musgrove II , USN ( ret ); daughter-in-law , Stephanie ( Dyer ); and her three beloved grandchildren , Cameron , Christian and Mary Elizabeth of Norfolk , Va .
She will be interned with her husband in Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton , N . J . at a future date . Donations in Marie ’ s memory may be made to St Anne ’ s Catholic Church in Ruskin , Fla .
