HAMMONtON—the Ham-
monton Planning Board held its
annual reorganization meeting at 7
p.m. on february 3 at town hall.
Chairman edward Marinelli
opened the meeting by welcoming
all those present.
“At this time i’d like to wish
everybody a happy new year. Wel-
come back. We’re probably getting
started a little bit late, but thanks,
everybody, for coming, and taking
time out to assist Hammonton with
their planning and zoning,”
Marinelli said.
those present included Salva-
tore Capelli, Dr. Michael Hozik,
Michael Messina, Michael Pullia,
ray Scipione, William Brinker-
hoff, James Matro, returning mem-
bers Gordon Pherribo (who was
not present at the start of the meet-
ing but arrived later) and Council-
man Jonathan Oliva, as well as
new members Chris Kalani and
Brooke Sacco. Charles Baldi was
absent.
“i’d like to welcome all of the
new board members that are here
tonight. i’m sure you will enjoy
your time, the board is very in-
formative and, as i said, assisting
the town of Hammonton,”
Marinelli said.
Marinelli then turned the meet-
ing over to Oliva to begin the busi-
ness of the evening.
“thank you so much for having
me. it’s been an honor to serve on
this board over the course of the
last two years. i’m looking forward
to serving on this board again for
my third year. So, for everyone
who i have served with in the past,
i very much appreciate your guid-
ance and your love, and i look for-
ward to doing it again,” Oliva said.
Messina nominated Marinelli for
chairperson of the planning board.
Capelli seconded the nomination,
which passed unanimously, with
Marinelli abstaining.
“Members of the board, i’d like
to thank you. this is my 18th year
here — 14 years as chairman and
four years on the board prior to
being chairman — i really enjoy
this job, and to me, it makes me
feel like i’m giving back to the

Marinelli said.
Oliva nominated Joseph P. Mc-
Groarty esq., of fitzgerald & Mc-
Groarty PA in Linwood for the
position of board solicitor. Hozik
seconded the nomination.
McGroarty was approved as so-
licitor. Sacco was not called upon
for her vote.
Oliva then nominated Mark Her-
rmann of Adams, rehmann &
Heggan Associates as board engi-
neer. Sacco seconded the motion,
which passed unanimously.
for board planner, Oliva nomi-
nated the firm of Adams, rehmann
& Heggan, with Hozik seconding
the motion. the motion passed
unanimously, with Stuart Wiser
taking the planner seat.
Pherribo then arrived at the
meeting. Once all attending mem-
bers were present, the board enter-
tained
motions
for
vice
chairperson. Messina nominated
Pherribo; Capelli seconded the mo-
tion, and Pherribo was approved
unanimously.
Kim MacLane was nominated
by Oliva to continue her role as
board secretary. Capelli seconded
the motion, and MacLane was ap-
proved unanimously.
Marinelli then asked about the
one order of business before the
board: approval of Land Use Board
rules.
“it’s the same as they were last
year. We approve them every
year,” MacLane said.
the rules were approved unani-

the planning board will hold its
next meeting on february 5 at 7
p.m. in town hall.
Warrant
arrest made

HAMMONtON—A motor ve-
hicle stop at the intersection of
third Street and Old forks road at
2:39 a.m. on January 30 led to a
warrant arrest, Hammonton Police
Chief Kevin friel said.
A vehicle was stopped for viola-
tion and the driver was found to be
operating a motor vehicle with a
suspended driver’s license, friel
said. the driver’s name was not re-
leased by friel.
A passenger in the vehicle,
Angel Quintero, 33, of Camden
was found to have an active war-
rant in the amount of $500, friel
said.
Quintero was arrested on the
warrant, processed and released
with a new court date in Camden,
friel said.
Officer Kyle Ambrozaitis was
the arresting officer, friel said.
