Warren f . Steele , 68 , of Somers Point , died on Saturday , January 13 , 2018 , at Shore Memorial Hospital . Born in Hammonton and a graduate of HHS class of 1967 . Warren was predeceased by his parents , rex and Catherine Steele . He is survived by his son , Jeff Steele ( Malinda ); sister , Barbara Yakubovsky ( Mike ); former wife and friend , Debby freeman ; his aunt , rose Storey ; three grandchildren , ivy , abby and troy . a visitation will be held on friday , January 26 , 2018 , 6 – 8 p . m ., at Boakes funeral Home , 6050 Main Street , Mays Landing , NJ 08330 . Irving Smith III irving Smith iii ( irv , Smitty , Camel ), 80 , of Glassboro , Brigantine and West Orange , died after a lengthy battle with multiple illnesses on January 10 , 2018 . irving attended Salisbury School , Columbia HS , Centre College , fairleigh Dickinson University and Upsala College attaining a master ’ s degree . He served in the National Guard , basic training in fort Dix and was a platoon guide and honored with the title Soldier of the Cycle . He was a member of the Gideon Bible association , the USHa , Kiwanis , and sang in choir at church . He was a semi professional football player for the essex ramblers . He played and participated in many varied sports over the years , held sporting titles and received many trophies . He was a big rowan University basketball and football fan and attended most home and away games , traveling in his rV with his wife and dogs . He was an avid animal activist his whole life . He and his wife raised 12 dogs during their marriage .

He was the great-great-grandson of William Henry Hayes , captain of the first clipper ship the rainbow , son of the late irving Smith Jr . and rhoda Smith . Husband of Sandra Smith ( nee DeBosscher ) of 26 years . Cousin of the late ann Nancy Wetmore , and survived by three second cousins , Valorie Calef , Utah , Lucinda zavelle , NM , and Charlotte Kremer , Va . Son-in-law of Mildred DeBosscher of Hammonton and her brother , Salvatore Capozza , his wife , Catherine , and their family , also of Hammonton .
Services were held on Sunday , January 21 , 2018 , at Mt . Olive Christian Community

Philip D . Simonetti , 78 , of Winslow township , died on thursday , January 18 , 2018 , at Cooper Medical Center in Camden .
Born in Winslow township , he was a lifelong resident there . Mr . Simonetti served in the U . S . National Guard . He worked for many years at ancora Psychiatric Hospital , and he was the Owner and administrator of the Hammonton Manor . Phil enjoyed vacationing especially cruises , raising and caring for his chickens , spending time outdoors , but his greatest joy was spending time with family and friends .
He is survived by his beloved wife , Grace Simonetti ( nee Pagano ); five children , Philip Simonetti ( Bernadette ) of Mullica Hill , Brian Simonetti ( Harbor ) of alabama , Gina Marie Simonetti , Michael Simonetti ( Sue Salvatore ) and Christopher Simonetti all of Winslow township ; one sister , Jennie raniolo of Winslow ; and three grandchildren , Jacqueline , Sarah and Bianca .
Viewing will be held today , Wednesday , January 24 , 2018 , from 10 a . m . – 11 a . m . at the Carnesale funeral Home , 202 S . third Street in Hammonton , where funeral services will take place today , Wednesday at 11 a . m . esther ( nee Daminger ) Weber , 95 , died peacefully on January 16 , 2018 .
She was a beloved mother . Mrs . Weber was a graduate of Hammonton High School where she excelled as an athlete and was a star basketball player . She worked for Whitehall Laboratories and was the first lady supervisor in New Jersey . She retired from Whitehall in 1989 . Mrs . Weber loved bowling , reading , doing crossword puzzles and playing cards with her friends . She was loved by many and will be missed by all .
She was predeceased by her husband , Gus Weber ; and son , Glenn B . Weber . Mrs . Weber is survived by her daughter , Carol rodio ; her granddaughters , Mina Jean Weber , Mary flanagan ; her grandsons , Josh Sprague , Sammy rodio , Michael rodio ; and her sisters , Jean akin , Lois Mascio and Linda McDonald . funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family . John Callahan , 96 , died at the home of his daughter , Nellie Callahan , on January 19 , 2018 .
Mr . Callahan was born in Philadelphia , Pa ., on august 12 , 1921 , son of Mary and John Callahan of County Donegal , ireland . He was married to Margaret Callahan ( nee Watson ) for 71 years , mother of his 10 children . He was a graduate of St . Joseph ’ s Prep and Villanova University . He served in WWii as a Naval Lieutenant in charge of a landing craft tank , landing on Normandy ’ s Omaha Beach on D-Day . His landing craft carried 140 enlisted men and four army officers .
He was predeceased by his children , Mary and Paul . He is survived by his children , thomasine of Portland , Ore ., Margaret of Maryland , Kathy of Maryland , Nellie of Port St . Lucie , fla ., Michael Denville of New Jersey , Kelly of Maryland , Megan of New Jersey and Sean of Key West , fla .; 11 grandchildren , and 4 great-grandchildren . relatives and friends are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday , January 27 , 2018 , at 10 a . m ., at the St . He was born in Hammonton and served in the U . S . army during the Korean War . He worked for american B . D . trucking for 30 years and was also a blueberry farmer . Magee was a member of Boot Hill Gunning Club and played baseball for John Manville .

Michael S . Mazzeo

Michael Stephen Mazzeo , 75 , of Ocala , fla ., died in his home , surrounded by family on December 31 , 2017 .
Born in Hammonton to Stephen and amelia Mazzeo , he graduated from St . Joseph ’ s High School in 1960 and married Judy ( anderson ) Mazzeo in Versailles , Pa ., on May 27 , 1967 . Mike served in the U . S . Navy for 20 years . Upon retiring from the service , he went into the insurance business and attained accreditations as both a Certified Life Underwriter and a Chartered financial Consultant from the american College . He continued to work in insurance for 15 years , primarily developing and underwriting new products . a life-long Catholic , Michael attended St . Joseph ’ s Church in Hammonton , was a long-time member of immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Wilmington , Del ., and joined Our Lady of the Springs Church soon after moving to Ocala .
Most mornings , Ocala Palms residents could see Mike and his friends taking their four mile walk through the neighborhood . Mike enjoyed playing the piano and organ for friends and family , or just for personal enjoyment . among other hobbies were remodeling , woodworking , chess and playing cards with friends . it was not until retiring to florida , that Mike and Judy found their second love in square dancing . He often said square dancing was the most fun he ’ d ever had , and Mike continued with more difficult levels of training , up to and including the “ challenge ” classes . the two served as co-presidents of two dancing clubs , and Mike continued to send out a square dancers newsletter for the club members until his illness prevented him from doing so any longer .
