Norman “ Zeke ” LaFreda
Norman “ Zeke ” LaFreda , 87 , of Hammonton , N . J . went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday , January 10 , 2022 .
Born on September 19 , 1934 , in Cecil , N . J ., he lived in Hammonton before retiring to Florida in 1989 , eventually moving back to Hammonton in 1994 where he lived until his passing .
People , who knew him well , knew that he was passionate about his God , Jesus , his church and his family … and playing pinochle at the Hammonton Canoe Club . He loved visiting and playing with his grandchildren ( Cole , Seth , Addison and Piper ), eating Chinese takeout and enjoyed flying his own airplane around the country to visit his old “ war buddies .” He was a generous man with a big heart which he often tried to hide , but to no avail . He was drafted into the Regular Army in 1957 during the Korean conflict and served in Heidelberg , Germany as a draftsman making maps from U-2 surveillance photos . Later , he was a union carpenter and built many homes and businesses in the South Jersey and Philadelphia areas including the LaNor Villas Condominiums . At the age of 48 , he turned his passion and hobby of flying into a career , being hired by a commuter airline flying regularly scheduled feeder routes for Delta , as well as on-demand corporate and charter flights .
He is predeceased by his parents , Joseph and Lena ( nee Vezza ) LaFreda of Rosedale , N . J . and his older sister , Doris DeStefano of Hammonton , N . J .
He is survived by his younger sister , Loretta Dachowski , and his three children : son , Brian LaFreda ( wife Trinity ) of Hammonton , N . J .; son , David LaFreda ( wife Martha ) of Murfreesboro , Tenn .; and daughter , Toni (“ Sugar ”) Benefiel ( husband Blake ) of Fishers , Ind
Ȧ memorial service was held on Thursday , January 13 , 2022 at 7 p . m . at his home church , Calvary Chapel of Hammonton at 660 S . Egg Harbor Road , Hammonton , N . J . Dominic “ Donnie ” LoSasso
Dominic “ Donnie ” LoSasso , 60 , of Hammonton passed away at home on Wednesday , January 12 , 2022 .
Donnie was born in Vineland and he was a lifelong resident of Hammonton . He worked as a pile driver for the Wharf & Dock Builders & Pile Drivers Local 454 of Philadelphia . He was also a blueberry farmer and owner of LoSasso Farms in Nesco . He belonged to the Atlantic County Farm Bureau . Donnie was an avid hunter and fisherman , and he was the founder and longtime President of the Antler Shack Gunning Club in Hammonton . He enjoyed winemaking , killing pigs , sausage making and yelling at all his friends and family members .
He is predeceased by his parents , Michael and Irene ( nee Logiovino ) LoSasso , and his father-in-law , Joseph Pino .
Donnie is survived by his beloved wife , Cheryl LoSasso ( nee Pino ); his brother , Michael LoSasso ( Barbara ); his sister , Bettie Off ( Bill ); his mother-in-law and biggest supporter , Ida Pino ; brother-in-law , Joseph Pino ; his nieces and nephews , Billy Off , Krista Cannatella ( Ron ), Michael LoSasso , Rachele Annarelli ( Joe ) and Jenna Pino ; special friends , Lou and Liz Condo , Wally and Debbie Raciti ; his special buddy , Dillan Condo ; and many aunts , uncles , cousins and friends .
A viewing was held on Sunday , January 16 , 2022 from 5 p . m . to 8 p . m . and again Monday , January 17 , 2022 from 9:30 a . m . to 10:30 a . m . at the Carnesale Funeral Home , 202 S . Third Street in Hammonton . A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday at 11 a . m . at St . Mary of Mt . Carmel Parish Church of St . Joseph ’ s , 226 French Street in Hammonton . Patricia M . Bertino , 62 , of Mays Landing , N . J . and formerly of Hammonton passed away Saturday , January 15 , 2022 .
Patty was born in Camden County and graduated from Hammonton High School class of 1978 . She was very talented with arts and crafts , and she could make just about anything .
She is predeceased by her parents , Louis Sr . and Marla Bertino , and her brother , Louis Bertino Jr .

POLICE , from Page 1 Police received a call that Torres had been previously told he was not permitted on the property , Friel said . Torres was located by Officer William Kurz in the stairwell of the building , Friel said .
Friel said Torres was placed under arrest , transported to police headquarters for processing and charged with defiant trespass .
He was released pending a court date in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court , Friel said . Kurz was the investigating and arresting officer , Friel said .
Torres was arrested a second time for defiant trespass on the 100 block of E . Orchard Street at 11:34 p . m . on January 16 , Friel said . Friel said Officer Dalton Scola was the investigating and arresting officer for the January 16 arrest of Torres .
In a separate incident , another arrest occurred on the 100 block of E . Orchard Street involving a different person , according to Friel .
At 2:42 a . m . on January 15 , police were again called to Orchard Street , Friel said .
“ We received a call of an unwanted person ,” Friel said .
Anthony Hall , 26 , of Hammonton had allegedly kicked a window and a door , causing damage , Friel said .
“ He was charged with criminal mischief and trespassing and was released pending a court appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court ,” Friel said .
Friel said Officer Richard Carpo was the investigating and arresting officer .
William James Tucker Sr .
William James Tucker Sr ., 86 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away Thursday , January 13 , 2022 at his home .
He was born in Dublin , Ga . and moved to Mullica Twp . in 1961 . He worked for the Eastern Brewing Company in Hammonton as a fork lift operator for over 25 years until the brewery closed . He continued as a custodian for the Hammonton Board of Education for 10 years . William loved to fish , gardening and watching wrestling .
William is predeceased by his loving wife , Arvada Tucker ( nee Davis ) and son , William James Tucker Jr .
He is survived by his son , Alvin Grant Tucker Sr . and his wife Chanda of Sicklerville , N . J .; daughter , Melissa Sabat of Hammonton , N . J .; and daughter-in-law , Margaret . He is the loving grandfather of Gabrella , Joanna , Jacklyn , William III , Angelique , Arianna , Ariella , Alvin Jr ., Joshua and Dakota and great-grandfather of Cameron , Aiden , Grayson , River , Rain and Bryce .

Police make arrests
Woman arrested for credit card use

HAMMONTON — Ashley Scheetz , 31 , of Hammonton was charged with receiving a lost credit card and fraudulent use of credit card , Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said . Scheetz was charged at 2:44 p . m . on January 10 , Friel said .
Scheetz was in for questioning in reference to an incident and was placed under arrest and charged by Officer Anthony Paulsgraf , Friel said .
“ She had used the card and made purchases at Walmart and ShopRite ,” Friel said .
Scheetz was released pending a court appearance in Atlantic County Superior Court , Friel said .
Friel said Paulsgraf was the investigating and arresting officer .
