Juan Manuel Negron
Juan Manuel Negron, 30, of Hammonton, died on January 9, 2019.
Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, he was a lifelong resident of Hammon-
ton. Negron worked for Barrett Asphalt in Hammonton. He enjoyed fish-
ing, playing bongos, singing and riding motorcycles, especially dirt
bikes. He was a gifted mechanic who could fix anything.
He is predeceased by his brother, Christian Domena. He is survived
by his parents, Manuel and Nancy Negron of Hammonton; his children;
two sisters, Katherine Negron and Karian Viola along with her husband
Greg; one brother, Manuel Negron; his paternal grandmother, Rosa
Rosario; and three cousins, Ruby Vargas, Freddy Diaz and Kassandra
Rivera.
Viewings will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and
Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Spanish Pentecostal As-
sembly of God Church, 100 French Street in Hammonton, where funeral services will take
place Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. and Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenmount
Cemetery in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Go Fund Me
account: gf.me/u/pyp2q2.

Ralph J. Peter
Ralph J. Peter, 85, of Hammonton, died peacefully at home on
Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
Born in the Bronx, NY, he lived most of his life in Woodside, Queens,
NY, before moving to Hammonton. He worked as a baker in New York
City. He was a member of the Bakery and Confectionery Union and the
Honorary Order of Arctic Adventurers. He was an U.S. Navy Veteran of
the Korean War and he served on the USS Belle Grove. He was awarded
the Domain of the Golden Dragon.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Peter; three step children, Darius
Nazario, Denise Casalduc and Jerry Casalduc; and five step grandchil-
dren, Alyssa, Clarissa, Keara, Jake Andrew and Ethan.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Elizabeth Hartnett
Elizabeth (Bette) Hartnett (nee Parra), 86, of Lewes, Del., died on
November 16, 2018.
Born in Wyoming, Pa., Hartnett briefly attended Wilkes College,
where she met her husband, Dave. Hartnett and her husband and their
family lived many places, from Alaska to Florida, and even overseas in
Belgium. They settled in Medford, N.J., in 1970. They retired to Lewes,
Del., in 1998. Hartnett was a homemaker for most of her married life.
After the children were grown, she worked at the Lenape Kiddie Kollege
nursery school in Medford. Hartnett was active in the Boy Scouts of
America when her sons were young. She was active in the Medford His-
torical Society, working on the publishing of their cookbook and plan-
ning and participating in the very first Apple Festival. She attended St. Mary of the Lakes
Catholic Church.
Hartnett is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Dave. She is survived by her sister,
Barbara (Adolf Blauhut); her brother, Frank (Maria) and her children, Deborah (Lou Ruz-
icka), David (Barbara), Thomas (Patrice), Mark (Christine) and Christopher (Gail) as well
as 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Those who wish to remember Bette with her family may do so on Monday, January 21,
2019 at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, located at 40 Jackson Road, Medford, N.J.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be held at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Medford Village.
Donations in Hartnett’s name, in lieu of flowers, may be sent to The Medford Historical
Society, PO Box 362, Medford, NJ 08055.

the vehicle. Upon checking the vehicle there was the
strong odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehi-
cle,” Friel said.
There were passengers in the vehicle who were
asked to exit the BMW and a search of the interior
of the vehicle revealed two clear plastic bags of green
leafy vegetation believed to be marijuana as well as
a digital scale, Friel said.
“There were other smaller bags containing green
leafy vegetation believed to be marijuana located in
the vehicle. Mr. Foster stated that all the marijuana
in the vehicle was his,” Friel said.
Foster was arrested, processed and charged with
the following charges: Distribution of controlled dan-
gerous substance, possession of marijuana over 50
grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and distrib-
uting drugs within 1000 feet of a school, Friel said.
He was processed and released pending a court
date, and K-9 Officer Robert Zbikowski was the ar-
resting officer, Friel said.
Accident leads to warrant arrests

HAMMONTON—A motor ve-
hicle accident that occurred at
11:18 a.m. on January 9 on N. Egg
Harbor Road and French Street
led to warrant arrests, Hammon-
ton Police Lt. Kevin Friel said.
“The driver and passenger of
one of the vehicles were found to
have outstanding warrants,” Friel
said.
Miguel Cea Jr., 21, of Ham-
monton was found to have an ac-
tive warrant for $1,000 from
Hammonton Joint Municipal
Court and also received two motor
vehicle citations, one for careless
driving and one for failure to ex-
hibit documents in relation to the
motor vehicle accident, Friel said.
Friel said Cea’s passenger,
Jonathan Ortiz, 30, of Hammon-
ton was found to have two out-
standing warrants, one from
Hammonton in the amount of
$1,000 and one from Berlin Bor-
ough for $1,250.
Both subjects were released on
their own recognizance pending
court appearances in their respec-
tive courts, and Cpl. James Pinto
was the arresting officer, Friel
said.
In other police news, police
made the following arrests last
week:
• On January 10 at 11:07 p.m.,
on the location of Second Road
and 12th Street, Ciara Blakley, 27,
of Pleasantville, was found to be
operating a vehicle without a valid
driver’s license and that license
was suspended, Friel said. She
also had two active warrants, one
from Woodbine for $300 and one
from Egg Harbor Twp. in the
amount of $750, Friel said.
She was released on her own re-
cognizance on the warrant from
Woodbine and turned over to Egg
Harbor Twp. Police Department
for the warrant from Egg Harbor
Twp. following being charged
with unlicensed driver and driving
while suspended, Friel said.
Officer Kyle Ambrozaitis was
the arresting officer, Friel said.

Joseph Thomas IV, 47, of Mays
Landing had an active warrant
from Hammonton for $1,000 and
upon being searched was found to
be in possession of methampheta-
mine, Friel said.
“He had a small white plastic
bag tied in a knot which contained
a rock-like substance believed to
be methamphetamine,” Friel said.
He was charged with posses-
sion of controlled dangerous sub-
stance methamphetamine and
released pending a court date,
Friel said.
Officer Gordon Ellis III was the
arresting officer, Friel said.

came to Hammonton Joint Mu-
nicipal Court on January 8 for
charges he was facing was ar-
rested by police at town hall on an
outstanding warrant, Hammonton
Police Lt. Kevin Friel said.
