Before getting into the regular proposed
agenda items, a tree removal application
was presented to the board by John Lyons.
Lyons was seeking to have eight trees and
one non-regulated tree removed from a site
on the corner of Railroad Avenue and Orchard Street. The applicant’s reasoning for
the removal of the trees was because “the
trees obstruct a planned accessory building
and driveway.”
Lyons owns a duplex property, which he
acquired in the past few months, and is seeking to add an “L-shaped” driveway on the
border of it and erect a storage structure in
the open area.
“The driveway to support the structure
will basically go right through where the
trees are in the back on the western side of
the property. So, if you came off of Railroad
[Avenue], we are going to do a little driveway across the back and one that comes
alongside the duplex. In laying out the preliminary site plan, we made an application
to remove the trees,” Lyons said.
