OBITUARIES Francis “ Frank ” Joseph Woelfel
Francis “ Frank ” Joseph Woelfel Sr ., 87 , of Rosedale section of Winslow Twp ., N . J . passed away Thursday , January 6 , 2022 at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees , N . J . with loved ones by his side .
Frank was born and raised in Philadelphia and graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1952 . He served his country in the U . S . Army during the Korean War . Frank spent most of his professional career with Honeywell . He began in the Philadelphia area but worked to open a new regional office in Marlton , N . J . He retired from Honeywell in 1992 as the Regional Branch Manager for the South Jersey Region . After his “ retirement ,” he spent the next 22 years working at the Pinelands Regional Golf Course in Folsom , N . J .
In addition to his parents , Harry J . and Henrietta Woelfel , he is predeceased by his brother , Harry ( Mary ) Woelfel and sisters , Henrietta ( Walt ) Blair and Clare ( Tom ) Christy .
He is survived by his wife , Jean G . Woelfel ( nee Rodio ); his children , Francis and his wife Mary , Deborah O ’ Neill and her husband William , Michael Woelfel , Donna Wilsbach and her husband Joseph , and Dawn Woelfel as well as his sister , Mary Schweiker .
He was the loving and much loved grandfather of Frank J . Woelfel III , Kevin and Daniel Woelfel , Joseph E . Wilsbach ( Kate ), Connor and Kyle Wilsbach , Michael and Brenna O ’ Neill and Amanda Dunns ( Kenny ) and Samantha Woelfel .
A viewing will be held for family on Wednesday , January 12 , 2022 from 9:30 a . m . to 10:30 a . m . at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N . Third Street Hammonton , N . J . Theresa Lanza
Theresa Lanza ( nee Heller ), 74 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away Saturday , January 1 , 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family .
Theresa was born in Wilmington , Del . and graduated from St . Elizabeth High School . She went on to achieve her LPN from the Nursing School of Wilmington . Theresa was the owner and operator of Lanza ’ s Blueberry Hill alongside of her late husband Richard .
She is predeceased by her husband , Richard A . Lanza and her parents , Roy and Johanna ( nee Donahue ) Heller .
She is survived by her children , Amy L . Hunter ( Chris ) of Hammonton , N . J ., Lori L . Varvarezis of Hammonton , N . J . and Richard Lanza of Elwood , N . J ., and her sister , Donna Hopkins of Oceanview , Del . She is the loving grandmother of Annabella , Johnny , Nicole , Vinny , Sommer , Camryn and Aspen ; loving great-grandmother of Grayson .

Jean “ Giovanna ” E . Jones
Jean “ Giovanna ” E . Jones ( nee Maimone ), 92 , of Hammonton , N . J . passed away peacefully Friday , January 7 , 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family .
Jean was born and raised in Hammonton and graduated from Hammonton High School in 1949 where she played field hockey . She went on to work for Atlantic County in the Clerk ’ s Office where she retired in 1993 . Jean was a member of the Hammonton Senior Citizens , VFW and Rosary Society .
She is predeceased by her husband , Walter ; her son , Anthony ; parents , Frank and Fannie Maimone ; and her brother , Charles Maimone .
Jean is survived by her son , Richard and his wife Barbara of Hammonton , N . J . and daughter , Jean Mazzeo and her husband John of Tennessee .
She is the loving grandmother of Frank , Brandon , Jessica , John , Anthony , Alison and Joseph . She is the loving great-grandmother of Michael , Giovanna , Kaylee and Jaxon .
Private services were held at the Marinella Funeral Home . Burial was held in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 124 S . First Rd . Hammonton , N . J .

2 men charged with DWI

HAMMONTON — Two separate driving while under the influence of alcohol ( DWI ) arrests were made on January 1 , Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said .
The first DWI arrest was at 1:47 a . m . on January 1 at the intersection of Main and Pleasant Mills Roads , Officer Richard Carpo stopped a vehicle for failure to maintain a lane of travel and speeding , Friel said .
The vehicle was operated by Davon Todman , 33 , of Newsport , Va ., Friel said .
Todman was found to be operating under the influence of alcohol , was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing , Friel said . He was charged with the following motor vehicle violations , Friel said : driving while under the influence , speeding , careless driving , reckless driving , failure to exhibit documents , driving while suspended , failure to maintain lane , refusal to submit to breath testing and unlicensed driver , Friel said .
He was released as per John ’ s Law pending a court date in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court , Friel said , adding that Carpo was the arresting and charging officer .
The second DWI arrest occurred at 2:13 a . m . on January 1 , Friel said , following a motor vehicle crash .
Police were notified of a vehicle hitting a pole at the intersection of Fairview and Egg Harbor Road and the driver was located near the intersection of 13th Street and Railroad Avenue , Friel said .
The driver was identified as Juan Marroquin , 19 , of Hammonton , Friel said .
He was placed under arrest for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was transported to headquarters for processing , Friel said . Marroquin was charged with the following motor vehicle violations : driving while under the influence , careless driving , reckless driving , failure to report accident , unlicensed driver , failure to possess the registration , failure to possess the driver ’ s license , failure to maintain a lane of travel , failure to possess the insurance card , failure to wear a seat belt , open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle , touring privilege of non-resident license expired and delaying traffic , Friel said .
Friel said Marroquin was processed and released as per John ’ s Law pending a court appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court .
Hoffman was the investigating and arresting officer in the Marroquin arrest , Friel said .

Drug arrest
POLICE , from Page 1 the subject outside of his property and then located a hypodermic needle on the sidewalk in front of the house ,” Friel said .
Friel said a police patrol located the subject , Luna , who was found to have an active warrant from Berlin in the amount of $ 750 , Friel said .
“ Upon search incident to arrest , he was found to have several hypodermic needles and a blue wax fold containing a white powdery residue believed to be heroin ,” Friel said .
Luna was transported to the police department where he was processed , charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance heroin and possession of a hypodermic needle and released pending a court appearance in Atlantic County Superior Court and Berlin Township Municipal Court , Friel said .
Friel said Officer Kyle Ambrozaitis was the arresting and charging officer .
