The Habersham Marketplace...
The Habersham Marketplace...
In planning Habersham, we designed the main entrance to include several commercial buildings that create a“ Main Street” setting that we call the Habersham Marketplace. The architecture is similar to historic main street buildings found throughout the region. The buildings define the street and include retail spaces on the first floor and office or residential spaces on the floors above.
An important aspect of the Marketplace is the freedom that it offers both young and old. Children who are typically shuttled by their parents or seniors that are unable to drive are able to walk to the Marketplace. For the fortunate ones who live in Habersham and work in the Marketplace, the only morning traffic they will face will be that of other walkers and joggers sharing the same sidewalk.
Included in the Habersham Marketplace are the Habersham Post Office, Fire Department and Information Center. These civic structures are the existing cornerstones of what has grown to be a center of activity that provides the conveniences of a self-supportive town.
Our growing roster of businesses currently boasts an antique shop, a corner pub, pizzeria, Tex-Mex grill, chiropractor, family dentistry, wellness center and gym, home decor boutique and several professional offices.
Every month the Marketplace hosts their“ First Fridays” celebration with sidewalk vendors and musicians. Each year the Marketplace adds to their calendar of events and is becoming a favorite destination for locals and visitors who marvel at the unique village setting.
