Recipe of the Month

Sweet Rice

By Carol Bradshaw

One Cup Comet Enriched Long Grain Rice

Four Cups Water

One Cup Sugar

Two Cups Milk

Cinnamon and Additional Suger to Tast

Add 1 cup rice to 4 cups water. Simmer until rice is tender and most of the water absorbed. Add 1 cup sugar and stir. Then add 2 cups milk. Simmer mixture until ¾ of the liquid is absorbed and rice is tender. Make sure that some liquid is present; otherwise rice will be lumpy and thick. Rice absorbs some of the moisture while sitting in bowl. Pour rice in bowl; sprinkle with cinnamon and more sugar to your liking. I use about ¾ cup more to sprinkle on.
