INSIDIOUS 2 (2013) Director James Wan and writer Leigh Whannell reunite with the original cast of Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye and Ty Simpkins in Insidious: Chapter 2. This sequel follows the Lambert family as they try to ?gure out the mysterious childhood that connects them to the spirit world. The low-budget horror sequel debuted at No. 1 with a stellar $41.1 million. This movie starts off right where the ?rst chapter ended, discovering the corpse of murdered medium Elise (Shaye). Throughout the movie, there are still evil spirits that are trying to get Josh (Wilson) to kill his wife , Renai (Byrne) and his three children. Josh is not who he says he is, the real Josh is actually still trapped in the spirit world. Once household items start moving on their own again, Renai, and ghostbusters Specs (Whannell), Tucker (Angus Sampson), look to retired psychic Carl (Steve Coulter) for answers. Renai's group discovers a roomful of corpses when trying to look into Josh’s past dealings with the undead for a solution to this current creepy seem so into the ?lm. In the previous ?lm, the movie seemed a tad bit more realistic. The Lambert family was good, but it just seemed as if their minds’ were elsewhere while in the making of this ?lm. Although the acting was not all that great, the effects were much better. The ?lm seemed to have had more money to make it and took advantage. The Bride in Black seemed scary. All of the corpse made the ?lm feel more terrifying. conundrum. While they investigate, Dalton (Simpkins) encounters clues of his own as his astral projection abilities resurface. All in all, the movie was interesting, it was over hyped so I expected it to be more thrilling. But the ?lm had its moments where it was good. There were a few scenes that had pop ups and you would not expect some stuff to happen. The ?lm had good intentions, but maybe the ?rst ?lm was better. If you want to ?nd out what happened to the Lambert family, then go watch the movie while it is still in theaters. One thing that did bother me was the acting.
