Who is Jordan Sisco?
A 22 year old man who is in the army and was stationed in Afghanistan. It was his ?rst tour there and he
came upon a IED, a explosive device and unfortunately because of that he came home from
Afghanistan minus, his two legs and the thumb of this right hand.
When did you ?rst hear his story?
Well actually I was in a friday night bible study a friend of Jordan's mom, Simone, came and brought
bracelets some of the para-cord bracelets and she said they were selling them to raise money for
Jordan's rehabilitation, and his family. His mom had to quit her job with the district and go with him to
Texas during his rehab so we were trying to raise money.
How did ASB get involved with jordan?
From me ?nding out about Jordan I bought a bracelet and some para-cord. My sons in the Air Force
and he made the one I still wear today. He made the tan one I wear and we learned how to make those
bracelets. My son bought some bracelets and we brought them to school and started selling them
through the roar store. ASB was enthusiastic and we kept going.
What has ASB done for jordan so far?
Well last we raised our $500 our goal to pay for his mothers health insurance. Part of that money made
from the bracelets and ASB won a safe driving contest $250.00 and the class voted to give all the
money to Jordan. This year we already raised $160.00 and if we win the teen driving, we’ll win $500.
ALC donated a movie basket to Jordan. Regular program donated trail mix, tooth brushes, etc.
How is ASB planning to help jordan this year?
We’re raising money, we’re trying to go higher than $500. We’re still going to sell bracelets. We’re going
to do a documentary in Mr. Collins class about Jordan and his family. Jordan coming home in
November, bringing the party to him, and his mother invited ASB.
Is ASB helping any other soilders in need?
Well now that you mention it the district is wanting schools to write Thanksgiving cards to soldiers.
Do you know how jordan is doing today?
Unfortunately not too well. Imagine being a young man losing both your legs and part of your right hand.
He’s discouraged right now, He could use some prayer, he could use some help.
