M rs . Palmer has organized an event at Lee V . Pollard that relieves students stress from finals week with a mixture of fun events , stress balls , and yoga poses .

Unity planned a whole week full of stress free activities to help students manage their stress during the most stressful time of the semester finals week . This week entails a yoga class taught in the Lion ’ s Den during lunch to find your inner calm self . Unity hands out stress balls after this class for your most aggravating times . They post motivating posters around Lee V to help you stay on track and make you want to achieve your goals of passing that hard test .
“ There is a lot of different ways to deal with stress that include healthy ways to distress like yoga ” – Mrs . Palmer .
When stressful times are ahead of us we tend to shut down and want to deal with it a lone but having a school that comes together and wants to help , makes this time a
lot less stressful . A stress free school makes for a happy enjoyable learning experience . It ’ s also enjoyable for Unity students to plan these events and get a chance to help the school .
“ I don ' t like the word " stress ." It ' s a Madison Avenue word . It ' s something that can be cured with flavored coffee and bath bubbles . ~ Aaron Sorkin , The West Wing , " Night Five ”
This is the second “ Got Stress ?” week that we have had at Lee V . Pollard and plan on doing it in the future because of thae positive effect it has on the students . Yoga was a fun way to relieve stress while having fun and laughing . It gave the students the opportunity to get away from their problems . The exercises were instructed by our Unity students . It was a great experience for both the students and Unity class . Ms . Palmer feels “ It gives students new experience and a different outlet to deal with stress “
