Ciphers , and puzzles , and trivia ! Oh my !
O ne of my favorite movies as a kid was “ The Goonies ”. The characters were approximately my age and the idea of setting out on an adventure with my friends , treasure map in hand and the fate of my neighborhood hanging in the balance , was all that was needed to cement it in my brain as the best thing ever .
Part of what I loved about the movie was the various traps , riddles , and twists set up by One-Eyed Willie to protect his treasure from the unworthy who would steal it
from his cold dead hands . I , too , have a treasure that can be pried from my cold , dead , oh wait , that doesn ’ t work .
Well , never mind . There is a treasure to win for one who can figure out my cipher , hidden in this issue . The key to the cipher is somewhere in these pages as well . All who submit the correctly decoded message by March 3 , 2017 will be entered in a drawing for a free yearbook . Submit your answers to me in E203 . This will take some work and maybe some research about ciphers on the internet . Good luck and remember , Lions never say die !
