Series of field days will focus on gullies

Three field days focusing on gullies will be held at Havilah Station during the next 12 months . The first one — Before The Wet — will be on 14 December . The idea is to bring landholders in at the beginning so they can see firsthand what is involved in remediating a gully .

Water monitoring group reviews 20-21 results

The LDC Community Water Quality Monitoring Group is learning more about how , when and where sediment moves throughout a range of flow events . The group met in September to review water sampling results from the 2020-2021 wet season at an event held at Urannah Station .

Griffith University is working in the field

The BBB generates almost half of the fine sediment exported to the Great Barrier Reef lagoon . For this reason , it is a target hotspot for sediment reduction , which is why gully remediation is a key component of the LDC project .

Eungella multi-species day was a big success

Landholders in the Eungella region attended a field day in October to discuss the benefits of growing multi species pastures . Graziers also got the chance to see a new machine designed for multi-species planting in action .
