Clusters help landholders to help each other plan, learn and test
NQ Dry Tropics’ Grazing Team has encouraged graziers and other landholders to form clusters.
They’ re like support groups that can help by pitching when there’ s heavy lifting to do or there’ s a new process or piece of equipment to be tested.
Senior Grazing Officer Tristan Gibson, prompted by Glenalpine grazier Barry O’ Sullivan, a cluster of four properties is trialling a new system for monitoring weight gain in the herd.
And Senior Grazing Field Officer Brad Martin is supporting a cluster focusing on long-term goals in business and land management.
