The NQ Dry Tropics team brushed up on their knowledge and use of the Vegetation Condition Assessment Tool( VegCAT) with NRM Regions Queensland( NRMRQ) presenter Penny Scott, pictured, who delivered an insightful workshop about VegCAT and the role it plays in monitoring and recording vegetation condition. VegCAT is a rapid approach to assessing changes within NRM project areas. It is part of NRMRQ’ s statewide indicators framework( SWIF), which provides NRM organisations with standard tools and methods for collecting data demonstrating the impact of their work. Data collected feeds into a SWIF Dashboard showing the impacts being made state-wide by NRM organisations.
