Coffee morning with Pamela
Heller-Stern
On Friday, October 27, author Pamela Heller-Stern will attend the Friends of Mod-
derfontein Library’s coffee morning where she will introduce her latest novel, “Who’s
Knocking on my Door?” discuss the book’s condensed style as well as her writing
career.
This event will take place in the Thornhill Estate community
centre, Queen Street, Modderfontein at 9:30am.
Refreshments will be served and the talk will fol-
low. Cost for attendance is R20 per person and
members of the public are welcome to attend.
Pamela, ex-Cape Town now transplanted
Gautenger, has always been carried away with
fine art, writing and research. She lectured in
English Literature at the University of the
Witwatersrand at the tender age of 22 and
completed her Doctorate there at age 25.
“Who’s Knocking on my Door: Could it be
Death?” a rather sinister title, opens with the
dramatic story of a young South African sol-
dier who fought in North Africa in World War
11 and was shipped to Italy as prisoner-of-war.
Since her retirement 10 years ago, she writes
full-time. Her newly completed novel “Have a
Heart” will be published in the UK in June 2018.
Pamela’s books will be on sale after the talk and she
will be donating 10% of the sales as well as copies of 2
of her novels to the Friends of Modderfontein Library for their
new premises.
