DECember 2017 10 | Greenstone dining A new coffee and food concept The very European ‘on-the-go’ café style of eating is fast becoming popular in South Africa, and Coffee Bean & Go is now bringing this philosophy to Greenstone. O pened last month on November 4 at the Eden Meadows Shopping Centre, the food on-the-go philosophy of Coffee Bean & Go is already turning the heads of local residents. “We want to serve the highest quality Illy coffee, with a selection of sweet treats and savoury light meals – made with fresh ingredients, hygienically wrapped and prepared,” explains the effervescent owner, Tanya Byrne. “We do bake on site, however, we do not cook any food. This philosophy ensures that we can provide customers with food that is fresh daily, and the best coffee around. Their ratings on restaurant finding website Zomato are very good, but it’s in the comments section where you get to learn a bit more about them: “Love the idea of this place... somewhere to get good coffee and baked treats on the go,” says one, “Delicious coffee, friendly service. The muffins and croissants are a yummy addition. The owners are hands on and make sure that you are looked after,” says another, along with, “Such a magical little coffee bar with tasteful decor, amazing smells and beautiful presentation of coffees and food. Friendly staff and owners who know so much about coffee – Iced Coffee Mocha Freeze, freshly baked croissants and decadent chocolate brownies are a must!” As can be seen from the above, their ethos of service and great on-the-go food and coffee is already a winner. In fact, while we were there, before any of the staff even knew we were there to write an article on the café, each and every staff member greeted us and asked us how our coffee was, going out of their way to make us welcome. Coffee Bean & Go is the second branch to be opened in a year. Tanya launched the first store in Brackenhurst at the Bracken City Shopping Centre in November 2016 and the response was fantastic. “I’m a lover of coffee and saw a gap in the shopping centre market, and a need for good, on-the-go, coffee. With a background in manufacturing and a husband who owns a Jack’s Paint franchise, it was quite a change for her, but Coffee Bean & Go, with its tasteful, modern décor and relaxed and trendy Cel: 083 320-2795 atmosphere is already making its mark.
