Next we have The Galaxy window, depicting Alpha and Omega. A spiralling galaxy has stars turning into blossoms and other forms of life. The two porch windows show exploding rockets and crossed grasses. In 1987 Laurence Whistler, wrote a letter to the Rector of Moreton Church, offering to donate a 'thirteenth window' He said that as Judas was the thirteenth disciple he had engraved a window to be seen only from the outside of the church. It features Judas hanging, with the thirty pieces of silver falling from his hand and turning into flowers as they touch the ground. At first there was opposition to this, but the window was finally hung in 2013 and was named the Forgiveness Window. It can only be seen from the churchyard but like all of the windows it is absolutely perfect. St Nicholas’ Church is almost certainly the only church in the world where the windows are entirely of engraved glass. The people of the village encourage visitors and even have greeting cards and calendars for sale in the church. *All Interior & Exterior Work Undertaken *Domestic & Commercial *Paper Hanging *Insurance Work *Airless Spraying *Plastering *Wall & Floor Tiling Free Fully Itemised Quotations For a professional and reliable service please call: CHRIS BOTTRELL Tel: 01905 700142 Mob: 07867 813616 www.aztecdecorating.com Fully Insured member of the Painting & Decorating Association Garden Machinery Mobile Service & Repair for an estimate call Will White t: 01386 860918 m: 07716 404489 St Nicholas’ Church is something very special that should be seen, and well worth a visit.
