NEW FULL-SERVICE MEDICAL CENTER OPENS IN
MIAMI GARDENS TO MUCH FANFARE
Optimal Health Medical Center offers primary care, acute care, senior care and pharmacy services
Optimal Health Medical Center (OHMC), an all-inclusive medical
facility opened in the heart of Miami Gardens on February 27th
with Miami-Dade County Commissioner Barbara Jordan, Miami
Gardens Mayor Oliver Gilbert, and Miami Gardens Councilwoman
Katrina Wilson for a grand ribbon cutting ceremony. Founders
Drs. Abraham Hollist and Kristen Hollist decided to bring non-
traditional healthcare to the community of Miami Gardens. A
community where Dr. Kristen Hollist was raised.
“My husband Dr. Abraham Hollist and I are set to transform how
healthcare services are delivered to the community of Miami
Gardens by providing innovative solutions to various factors that
impact health.” The mission of Optimal Health is to promote the
overall health and well-being of its clients by providing quality
and comprehensive health care services. OHMC is committed
to preventing and managing chronic diseases by exploring and
providing solutions to root causes that negatively impacts health.
Optimal Health aims to empower individuals to reach their best
health through preventative care education and socioeconomic
resources.
The services provided at OHMC include primary care, acute
care, senior care, and pharmacy services. OHMC also houses
the Optimal Living Center, a preventative care education and
resource hub where clients can receive additional counseling
and support. Additional services offered at the center include
transportation, the underinsured cash program, medical
cannabis, medical therapy management, vaccinations, nutritional
supplements, ACCESS Florida, and health education programs
– all under one roof.
Inspired by their eldest son who has Sickle Cell Disease, The
Hollist’s decided to create a better system of healthcare delivery.
“We started on this journey because of our son,” said Dr.
Abraham Hollist. “We experienced first-hand the difficulties and
inadequacies of today’s healthcare system. Our son’s medical
care did not offer enough preventative solutions. We decided
to understand how this disease affects the body and to seek
alternative options.”
By increasing their knowledge of how the disease affects the
body, how food and supplemental nutrition can support the
bodies deficiencies, the Hollist’s developed an alternative heath
solution. It included modifying their son’s lifestyle and nutrition
to prevent him from having complications, and it has been
successful. To this day, their son has never been hospitalized or
experienced any sickle cell related complication.
OHMC is a simplified and flexible collaborative practice
committed to delivering high quality, compassionate, convenient
and affordable health care services to Miami Gardens.
