the Installation of the 14th Presi-
dent of the National Primitive
Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. on
Monday night, February 18, six
forty-five, at New Jerusalem Primi-
tive Baptist Church, 777 NW 85th
Street, Miami, FL.. Elder Dr. Ken-
neth A. Duke, Senior Pastor of
New Jerusalem Primitive Baptist
Church, Miami, FL and a product
of Bishop College, Dallas, TX, will
officially be installed as the organi-
zation’s 14th President by Elder Dr.
Bernard C. Yates, the 13th Presi-
dent of the National Primitive Bap-
tist Convention, USA, Inc. Elder
Dr. Thomas W. Samuels, the 11th
President of the National Primi-
tive Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.,
and Pastor Emeritus of Greater Mt.
Moriah Primitive Baptist Church,
Charlotte, NC, will deliver the In-
stallation Message at the Installation
Worship Service. When installed,
Dr. Duke will become the seventh
leader from the State of Florida to
serve as General President of the
National Primitive Baptist Con-
vention, USA, Inc., since its incep-
tion. (Duke---who had previously
served as the organization’s General
Vice President---was elected to lead
the national organization upon Dr.
Bernard C. Yates’ announcement of
his desire to step down after serving
the organization for seven years.)
A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Dr.
Duke completed his post-gradu-
ate studies at Virginia Theologi-
cal Seminary, Richmond, VA; and,
he received an honorary doctorate
from St Thomas Christian Univer-
sity, Jacksonville, FL.
President Duke is the son of the
late Elder Dan Duke and Mrs. Eu-
nice Duke of Miami; the husband
of the lovely Julia Duke; the father
of three adult children, Kenneth
D., Kelon D., and Aheisha; and,
