this in review LISTEN TO THIS Body Parts Artist: Body Parts Album: Fire Dream Label: Father/Daughter Records Genre: Pop Release Date: October 29, 2013 By Michael Tremaine Brewer The experimental electronic duo Body Parts explores vast musical textures and sounds-capes on their debut album Body Parts. Many of the sounds channel the golden years of 80s New Wave. On the worship anthem “Be A God”, Ryder’s vocals invoke a sense of urgency and masochism. The drum loop of “Unavoidable Things” brings to mind 80s Sade. The album has a retro feel that does not seem outdated or contrived but rather paying homage to an incredible era of music. Still, the album remains contemporary and forward thinking with its great lyrical composition, sleek production, and amazing vocals. A must listen for any music lover.
