With the sun on the south west side of the house, our north facing drive which was rain drenched the night before had frozen solid overnight. It’s a steep hill of a drive so until it thawed out, we were not going anywhere, chainsaw repairs needed or not! Thank goodness we always have a large supply of pasta, tinned sauces and alcohol stored away in the cupboard and were able to swiftly persuade ourselves that the day would instead be best spent book reading, wine tasting and keeping warm. I can’t actually think of a nicer place or way to be “iced in”.
