Γραφικό χωριό στα νοτιοδυτικά του νησι-
ού, στον κόλπο του Λαγανά, με πλούσια
βλάστηση (ελαιώνες) και αγριολούλουδα.
Στον αντίποδα του Λαγανά, είναι ένας
ήσυχος τόπος ιδανικός για ήρεμες διακοπές
με δραστηριότητες όπως trekking ή ποδη-
λασία. Στον παραλιακό δρόμο, θα βρείτε
μια σειρά από επιχειρήσεις όπως ταβέρνες,
μπαρ, σουπερ μάρκετ ενώ από το λιμανάκι
αποχωρούν σκάφη για εξερεύνηση στο
Μαραθονήσι.
Αξίζει να επισκεφτείτε και τον φάρο Κεριού,
εκεί όπου κυματίζει - μόνο όταν ο καιρός
το επιτρέπει- η γαλανόλευκη, μεγαλύτερη
σημαία ιστού στον κόσμο. Είναι κατα-
χωρημένη στο βιβλίο Γκίνες και αποτελεί
έμπνευση του ιδιοκτήτη ταβέρνας στο Φά-
ρο. Έχει πλάτος 18,10 μ., μήκος 36,90μ. και
συνολικό εμβαδόν 667,89τ.μ. Ο ιστός έχει
ύψος 50 μέτρα και ζυγίζει 80 κιλά.
KERI
A picturesque village in the southwest
of the island, in Laganas bay, with
rich vegetation mostly with olive
groves and wild flowers. Contrary
to Laganas, this is a quiet place,
perfect for relaxing holidays with
activities like trekking or cycling. On
the seaside road, you will find a lot
of places such as bars, taverns and
super markets, while the port is the
point of departure for boats willing
to help you explore Marathonissi.
The Lighthouse in Keri is also worth
visiting, with the Greek flag waving in
the wind when the weather permits.
This is the largest national flag on a
pole in the world, listed in the Guiness
World Records, and was inspiration
of the owner of the tavern restaurant
in Faros. It is 18,10m wide, 36,90m
long and with total surface area of
667,89sqm. The flagpole is 50m tall
and weighs 80 kg.
