NAVAGIO
Words are poor to describe this beach, the most photographed one in Greece, and
renowned in every part of the world. With transparent waters that could make even
the most exotic island in the Caribbean jealous, this magnificent beach mesmerizes
for its wild landscape with the eminent white rocks and the finely milled white sand.
It was named after the ship “Panagiotis” that transported illegal cigarettes and
shipwrecked in the early 1980s in the waters and washed up on the beach. The hulk
remains there to this day. The beach isn’t organised and it can be accessed by water
with boats from the port of Aghios Nikolaos Volimon or from Porto Vromi.
