H θέα από τη Μπόχαλη | The view from Bochali BOCHALI The most popular area of the island, located on the highest spot of Zante, hundreds of meters away from the town. In the period of the Venetian Occupation, is was a noble district of the town and the island, and continues to keep elements of this ear until this day. Bochali is a perfect spot from where the visitor can admire the magnificent view of the town and the Ionian Sea. In Stranis Cliff in this area is where the Greek national poet was inspired the poem “Anthem to Freedom”,the first two strophes of which constitute the Greek national anthem. In this area there is also the Venetian Castle and the chapel of Aghios Georgios, that the members of the Society of Friends used as a meeting point. 13
