ΤHE PARTY ZONE ON THE ISLAND
Laganas, however, is even more famous for another reason... this is where the
heart of the nightlife and the youthful party mood beats, with numerous options
in nightclubs and bars located along the central road. The famous party zone is
located at the southern part of the island and is the island’s most renowned tourist
resort, attracting mostly foreign visitors (especially from Great Britain) with non-stop
dancing until the morning hours. Laganas, however, doesn’t mean only shots and
loud music from the DJ decks, but many more. It is part of the National Water Park, as
the beach has the particularity to be one of the most important places for the laying
of Caretta-caretta turtle in Greece and the Mediterranean Sea. Moreover, in Laganas
Bay stands out the picturesque Aghios Sostis island, with an easy access through a
floating wooden bridge. The area is of incredible beauty with many olive groves and a
beachfront forest with pine trees and a number of hotels, jewellery shops, restaurants
with Greek and International Cuisine, taverns, tourist shops, business premises, etc.
