FOLKLORE MUSEUM OF STAVROUPOLI
It was founded in 1994 with the personal
collection of Stavros Karampatzakis, who
had been collecting for many years several
objects from older times in the village’s
traditional coffee house. This collection
was donated to the Municipality of Stav-
roupoli, which turned a private building into
a museum that, since 2001, is open daily
for visitors, alone or in groups. Its collec-
tions include, among others, farming tools,
household vessels, clay and copper pots,
and also traditional wefts, documents and

O ποταμός Κόσυνθος πηγάζει από τις
κορυφές της Κούλας (κεντρική Ροδόπη)
διασχίζει τα Πομακοχώρια, περνά από
τον παραδοσιακό οικισμό της Ξάνθης και,
εκβάλλει στη λίμνη Βιστωνίδα.
KOSYNTHOS RIVER
Kosynthos river springs from the tops of Kou-
la (central Rodopi), crosses the Pomak Vil-
lages, passes from the traditional settlement
of Xanthi and flows into Vistonida lake.
