CENTRAL MARKET OF ERMOUPOLI
It dates back to the 19th century when it was the era of urban development in Syros. It is one of
the oldest ones in Greece. Its central building was located where now outdoor cinema Pallas is
located and the road that connected the market with the beach and the port was Chiou Street.
Currently, this little street is the only one of what is “left”; it is known as “Manavika” and is filled
with shops that sell local vegetables, fresh fish and all kinds of local goodies, which you must
fill your…basket with before you leave from Syros!
