Ολόκληρος ο νομός αποτελεί τόπο ιδανικό για τους φυσιο-
λάτρες. Εδώ θα έχετε την ευκαιρία να θαυμάσετε τον Ταΰγετο,
τον Πάρνωνα αλλά και τον ποταμό Ευρώτα. Η περιοχή του
κεντρικού Ταΰγετου έχει προταθεί να ενταχθεί στα Εθνικά
Πάρκα της Ελλάδας, ως προστατευόμενη περιοχή, με σπάνια
είδη ζώων και φυτών και με τοπία και οικοσυστήματα που
παρουσιάζουν μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον. Η περιοχή ενδείκνυται για
ποδηλασία, περπάτημα, εξερεύνηση και κυρίως χαλάρωση!
Ο ιστορικός ποταμός της Πελοποννήσου, ο Ευρώτας, είναι
ένας από τους τελευταίους σημαντικούς υδροβιότοπους στη
Νότια Ελλάδα και έχει περιληφθεί στο Ευρωπαϊκό Δίκτυο
NATURA, στον ευρωπαϊκό κατάλογο περιοχών υπό προστα-
σία «ΦΥΣΗ 2000».

Τhe whole region around Sparta is the ideal destination for
nature lovers. Here you will have the chance to admire the
mountains Taygetus and Parnonas and the Eurotas river. You
will be able to enjoy beautiful forests, shrubs and scented
phrygana, streams, plane trees and canyons that promise to
charm you and... clear your mind in every sense! The area of
central Taygetus has been proposed to become included in
the National Parks of Greece as a protected area, with rare
species of animals and plants and with landscapes and eco-
systems of great interest. The area is idea for hiking, trekking
with bikes, cycling and most of all- relaxing!The Evrotas River
Delta is one of the last major wetlands in southern Greece
and has been included in the European Network NATURA in
the European List of Protected Areas “NATURE 2000”.
