Την πρώτη αποκάλυψη σας την επιφυλάσσει το
κέντρο της πόλης. Αυτά που θα σας κάνουν αµέσως
εντύπωση στις Σέρρες είναι η ζωογόνος ενέργειά
τους, τα προσεγµένα µαγαζιά, οι φοιτητές, ο στυ-
λάτος κόσµος –και ειδικά οι γυναίκες– αλλά και,
όπως συµβαίνει σε κάθε µεγαλούπολη, η έντονη
παρουσία τσιµέντου, κυρίως στις πολυκατοικίες
των δεκαετιών ‘60 και ‘70, οι οποίες στέρησαν την
οµορφιά του αστικού τοπίου, που, ευτυχώς, εδώ
αντισταθµίζεται τόσο µε τα εναποµείναντα αρχοντι-
κά-στολίδια τα οποία την κοσµούν όσο, βέβαια, και
µε το πράσινο που την περιβάλλει.

life-giving energy, its neat stores, the uni-
versity students, the stylish crowd -espe-
cially the women- and also, as it happens
in every big city, the intense presence
of concrete, mainly at the 60s and 70s
apartment buildings that deprives the ur-
ban landscape of its beauty, something
that here, fortunately, is counterbal-
anced by the remaining mansions, jewels
that decorate the city, as well, of course,,
as by the vegetation that surrounds it.
