town, which opened in April 9 in 1895. it was built by
Ioannis Lazarimos, who due to his studies in Paris, had a
different point of view . The Municipal Theatre played a
major role in the development of the area. The building
suffered a lot during the Balkan wars, the ethnic division
and the World War I, as it was used as a military camp
and a school, while it also hosted a lot of immigrants
in 1919-1922. Today, it hosts a plethora of theatrical
performances and musical events.
