If you are an active type of visitor or you are interested in alternative tourism, start from Patras to visit: • Kalavryta to go skiing and snowboarding at the modern facilities of the popular and exceptionally organised ski resort of mount Chelmos at an altitude of 1.700 – 2.350 m and 13 pistes of more than 12 km in length. • In Evinos and Erymanthos river you will go kayaking and rafting with a landscape f unrivalled natural beauty in the background. • The Gulf of Corinth for sailing, as in the city operates the Sailing Club of Patras, while you can find sailing clubs also in Aigion and Rio. • The diving centre of Patras, which is ideal for the lovers of diving and the seabed! • A cart piste within close distance from the town of Patras, to have fun with your company. • The wider area to go paragliding, to get an adrenaline rush and to admire the unique landscapes! Note: In Patras there is a Paragliding Club (LE.AL.P.PA.). • T  he horse-riding associations in the wider area, for those who love horse-riding. • The wetlands of Kotychi-Strofilia forest at the settlement of Lappa, perfect for hiking. Walk in the beautiful Strofilia forest with the pine trees, the oaks and the stone pines. Head to the lagoon of Kotychi in the south, a very important wetland with reeds, wild ducks, herons, swans and wild geese! Actually, this area is a wetland of international importance, protected by the international Ramsar Convention. • Amazing landscaoes to go birdwatching, for those who want to come in direct contact with nature and wildlife, The lagoon of Kalogria is a true paradise on the northwestern edge of Peloponnese.
