ARGOS
Argos is located at a distance
of just 11 km from Nafplio. It is
one of the oldest Greek towns,
packed with history. Known
as the homeland of two great
mythical heroes, Perseus and
Hercules, it is an endless, time-
less “museum” with unique finds
and important sights, such as the
Acropolis of Ancient Argos and
the unique Ancient Theatre.
Today, the modern town is one
of the most populated towns
in the Peloponnese, with an
intense commercial activity,
vivid streets and wonderful
neoclassic buildings, like the
Railway Station building
and the renowned mansions
Kostantopouleio and Bousou-
lopouleio. Apart from being
a place of major historical im-
portance, Argos is known for its
warm hospitality, the culinary
delights and the numerous
nightlife options .
Stroll on the recently redevel-
oped main square, get lost in the
stone-paved pedestrian streets
surrounding it and indulge in the
charm of this historical city.
