ΠΛΑΤΕΊΑ ΤΡΙΏΝ ΝΑΥΆΡΧΩΝ
Όπως λέει και το όνομά της, είναι αφιερωµένη
στη µνήµη των ναυάρχων Kόδριγκτον (Aγ-
γλία), Δεριγνύ (Γαλλία) και Xέιδεν (Pωσία), που
κατατρόπωσαν τον τουρκοαιγυπτιακό στόλο
στη Ναυµαχία του Nαβαρίνου. Εκτός από τα
αξιόλογα νεοκλασικά κτήρια που την περιτριγυ-
ρίζουν, όπως αυτό που στεγάζει το Δηµαρχείο,
εδώ θα δείτε το ταφικό µνηµείο µε τα οστά του
Δηµήτριου Yψηλάντη και τον ανδριάντα του
Όθωνα, του πρώτου βασιλιά της Eλλάδος.
Tip: Σε ένα γωνιακό μαγαζί λειτουργούσε και
το πρώτο φαρμακείο της Ελλάδος 1828-1972.
Η σχετική επιγραφή βέβαια αναφέρει ότι εδώ
ταριχεύτηκε ο Καποδίστριας, αλλά σύμφωνα με
ιστορικές πηγές αυτή η πληροφορία δεν ισχύει.

As the name indicates (which means “the
square of the three admirals”), this square
was constructed in memory admirals Cod-
rington (England), De Rigny (France) and
Heyden (Russia), who triumphed over the
Turkish-Egyptian fleet in the Naval Battle of
Navarino. Along with the impressive neo-
classic buildings surrounding it, like the one
that houses the Town Hall, here you can
find the grave monument with the relics of
Dimitrios Ipsilantis and the statue of Otto,
the first King of the Greek state. Tip: In the
corner there used to be the first Greek phar-
macy during 1828-1972. The relevant signs
mentions that this is where Kapodistrias
was embalmed, bot, according to historical
sources, this information is not true.
